What do you think about Toyota Corolla? I live in Brazil and it's probably the most wanted car here. It's perfect and it's relatively cheap. But in USA cars are very cheap. What do you think about it? Can you find a Corolla everywhere in USA? Here they are everywhere.

In the US, Corolla's are very reliable small cars. I belive the model on sale here is different from the Brazil market one, and is larger. They have a higher resale value than other small cars, but are not in demand as much as Honda Civics because most recent Corollas have no aftermarket potential. Older Corollas, especially from the early 80s, may be in a bit more demand because some rear wheel drive models can be used for 'drifting' which is getting more popular here.

Overall, the Corolla would be a good choice for a first car no matter what country you are from.

Corolla is a very good and reliable car.

Do not believe the gas consumption figures given by the dealers. I get about 20 miles per gallon in town running only in USA. It should do a little more on the Free Ways. Nissan also has the same problem. But sometime back I had the Mitsubishi Lancer which was a rear wheel drive. That did about 36 m.p.g in town running.

But still I will say that Corolla is a good car.

There are a plenty of Corollas running around in the US. I think most of those sold here are built in California at the NUMMI plant. Very solid, dependable cars. It's not uncommon to see one that is 15 or 20 years old. Our current model is very similar to the one you have pictured, if not the same.

What hurts their sales here is that they are relatively small vehicles for the market (the much larger Toyota Camry sells like hotcakes and is often the #1 or #2 best-selling car in the country). Also it is perceived as being a bit boring, as compared to cars like the Honda Civic.

I recently visited Jamaica, and about half of the cars on the island are Toyota Corollas. Most of the rest were Nissan Sunnys (aka Nissan Sentra here in the US).

Corolla is definitely a good buy. Its a cheaper car but very reliable. Here in the USA, we have less corolla's coming in the shop with CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS on, than with the other models. There are also a huge amount of Corolla's around. Although I would pretty much buy any Toyota. I own a 1997 Toyota Camry LE with 218,000 miles on it. Runs like new. No problems, should be good for another 500,000 miles, as long as you take care of them.

Corolla is probably the best car in the world. Since its intoduction in 1967, Toyota has constantaly added some features in it and have improved it. Toyota have sold more than 1 Billion units of the car and it still sells, it is definitely an excellent car.

Toyota and Nissan cars have always been favourites. Toyota Carolla is a nice mid range car, and there are many new mid range cars to choose from, from all makes. You want to be sure you are happy with what you buy. It is my advice that you look at what you need to use it for, and the rate it depreciates, in case you trade in or sell later. I have owned Toyota Carolla, and Carina in the mid range, and Supra and Celica, as well as one I cannot remember, other than that it was a gorgeous brownish gold metalic salon, around when they first came out with metalics. also Nissan Skyline, the one that had the curved dashboard. I was always totally happy with all Toyota cars, especially Carina and the Salon. I was also super totally happy with Skyline. It was like another child to me. Depending on your finances, you may like to test try the whole Toyota and Nissan range then decide for yourself!

The Corolla pictured is called the "S" here in the states, and it sells really well. About the only competition it has is the Honda Civic, for reliability.

It's a nice family car. I saw this dude with a BMW, and stopped him to ask him about his '97 model. He said that HIS BMW only had a 1.8 litre engine! And HE was PROUD that HE got 27-28 mpg on a trip!! And I think Corolla's are better LOOKING TOO!

I love my Corolla. I've had it for a year now. It gets great gas milage and runs smooth. The only problem that I have had with it was a blown speaker (it was like that before we bought it and they fixed it asap).
