affected (physically - not just smell) by second hand smoke? I mean - been ill or died because of it. Please explain details.

No, it is a theoretical thing. The only thing that is sure is your chance of getting ill increases. You can never prove it was the secondhand smoke, bad diet, drinking. Just that it did not help.

I have known several persons who have gottem COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), mainly emphysema and also asthma, from second-hand smoke. These folks never smoked a cigarette in their lives; however, they were in environments where smoking occurred in closed quarters (no fresh air exchange).
