LOL! That's funny, like the gas could explode if it gets near the cigarette ambers. I'm not sure how much methane gas is in a fart. That would be a good science project. You might have to collect a lot of the gas, or have that cigarette right at the point of release to generate an explosion.
I know they are looking at cow farts as a source of energy. No kidding.
Addendum: OK, I just read the extra info about the question. I like my discussion of it better, but yes, you should always excuse yourself. One person's bad habit does not excuse manners for another.

oh man how i laughed when i read this.
i agree it is kinda hypocritical for a smoker to complain but.
you can ask a smoker if he minds not smoking in front of you.there isnt really much choice about farting as it has to come out lol
