Because a Nation divided against itself cannot stand. It's been part of a plan that was put in place years and years ago and, like the other Responder said, it's perpetuated by the Media.

If the past few generations had NOT been so self-centered; had they been community and Country focused as America has been in the past, we wouldn't be having the trouble we are.

Americans have gone from complacency to apathy ~ no one cares about the "big picture" as long as they, themselves, are satisfied.

The "Plan" is working. There's still time to foil it, but Americans are going to have to take their focus off themselves and really *SEE* what's going on and join TOGETHER else we complete the cycle and go from apathy back into bondage.

I think it's just everyone becoming self-consumed in beating the "Jone's". This generation is looking more toward money and status to make them happy vs. what most other people find make them happy in life. Having a big house and a Mercedes in the driveway is becoming more important than going to your child's first little league game or staying home with your children instead of putting them in a daycare 7 days a week. Granted, things are somewhat more expensive now than in the past, but if people live more within their means than worrying about superficial items, I think we would have a more happy society in general..less superficial..

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

I hope this helps to answer your question. :)

We've all got the "self-centered" disease to some extent. BUt I'd agree with the previous answer that the media says its OK and so they go with it.

As we draw nearer to the end-time, although we are seeing more and more people choosing to turn to God, also the enemy is stepping up the pace too.

The enemy places distractions in our path daily, self-image, lost focus, spiritualism, lost values i.e drink, drugs, etc.
