We are getting married in August, and we would be leaving port in Texas, any suggestions on a good cruise line or specific cruise on a budget?

Cruises are not that expensive. We just got back from a 7 day cruise for our honeymoon. Just book a basic room, the suites are over priced. Your food is included, but no sodas or alcohol. And you can pack some in your suitcase to save money, we always do that. Also, I noticed that as our honeymoon got closer, the prices for our cruise were lower. You could wait until closer to book it, but you run the risk of it being booked up if you do that. Also, check out some of the cheaper cruise lines, like Norwegian. We went on them in the past and had so much fun. For our honeymoon, we went on Carnival and we were very, very disappointed.

In general, the words "budget" and "cruise" don't go together. You would probably be better served by going to a small bed and breakfast for a short honeymoon and saving your money for a 'real' honeymoon when you can afford it. (Also - who wants to go on a cruise out of Texas in AUGUST ??? Hot, hot, hot - ) You could set yourselves a goal of a cruise to the Virgin Islands or the Bahamas.....or Jamaica.....in a year or so as a celebration for your first anniversary! Then save, save, save in the meantime so you can have something you will really enjoy.

Well, that being said - and probably falling on deaf ears - I can only suggest "cruising" the Internet....

I might recommend the package on the Queen Elizabet II to Europe. But what you need is only a room and a bed. Most of the honeymoon couples won't come out for breakfast or even lunch. They also have little time to join the entertainment program in the evening. If it is going well in bed, it won't be a problem. But if it's not, many will turn on such a behavior like swinging or something. Some have fallen in love with another guy or gal on the ship. You know that there is no way to get escaped from the ship for at least one or two weeks. To live with only sun and sea and romantic sky might make thing reversed.

Cruises can be very expensive. I know because I've been on 3. But my favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean. Carnival is okay too. My favorite places to go is Cozumel, Mexico, Key West, FL, Cayman Islands and the private islands each cruise line takes you to like CoCo Cay. I didn't really care for the Bahamas or Jamaica. Just my opinion...

Florida has Disney World/Epcot and Busch Gardens as well as Daytona Beach. If you like traditional places, there are places like Niagara Falls or Las Vegas. For the best bargain, I'd bet on Vegas, where you can get packages that include airfare, hotel, show tickets, and other extras. You should have no problem staying within your budget with any of these options. You might consider spending less than you have budgeted. Remember , the less you spend on the honeymoon, the more you can spend on other things.
