I own a white dove and she's staying with my aunt over at another country, when I last visited her, her left wing was bitten by the neighbours' dog, its bleeding and she can't fly properly, we don't have a vet in the area so how can I treat it?

(extra details)We leave our dove around the garden, she never flys away and she only eats from our birdfeeder so she's always walking around the yard, after she has been bitten she always stays inside her cage like never before(we use the cage as a pet voyager), please help me.

how can I treat the wound?

Your bird is in danger of death from the bite of the dog, the bacteria from the saliva from the dog can cause the bird to die with in 48 hours if not seen promptly by a Vet and treated with the correct medication. This is not something you can treat yourself, if you try to give it any medication and not knowing what kind or the correct dosage for the bird's type and weight you could do more damage then good. You need to find a Vet that knows about birds to get it proper treatment, if the bird was to survive the bite from the dog and the wing is permently damaged then you will need to assume a cage care since she will not be able to fly again.

You should should treat her wound bt first letting her rest first and give her some food and water. You should also keep her in the cage since she thinks its a safe place for her to stay in. If you do let her out of her cage, you should keep an eye on her and watch out for danger.

wings are really hard to treat it would be best if she didnt use it so u may have to tape the wing.
Ring around animal help numbers for some more advice.
She is wary now that she has been attacked, give her time, make sure someone is with her when she ventures out or has time out of her cage.
good luck.

call close by vets as many will take injured or infant organic world at no cost and get the help they favor or they can and could refer you to a organic world rehabber on your section. do no longer positioned any human meds on it in any respect. And perfect to positioned it in the aquarium yet with paper towel lining rather of the hamster muddle because it would want to devour it and die of impacted crop. end any bleeding with cornstarch or flour. furnish nutrients and water and save warmth and fairly and get to vet or rehabber. good success and good of you to assist it.
