Reading, listening, practice.
You should read books, news in English.
You should listen to radios and watch TV channes in English. It is not necessary you to understand every word said. In this way you may get accustomed to speaking and listening English.
The best way is to be able to practice who knows English well.

Bothe the options u have mentioned is good but the best & easy method is read more news papers & magazines so that u can find the recent word uses but in case of a novel u will found traditional words & sentences. To become up to date read daily two news papers at least & try to memorise the new words & if u r finding it difficult check out in the dictionary. Also as u mentioned listen to all English channels.
Good luck

Are you talking about the English language because you are not English or are you studying English at school in England? I found the best way to learn another language is to be in it and talk to people as you will learn more useful words and phrases and see how they all come together and the pronunciation.
If you are studying English then leave it till you go back to school, holidays are for having fun!

Lots of colleges and universities do summer courses in English. Alternatively, get a tutor or friend online as the other person suggested.

Read books, magazines, web sites in English, chat with English speakers. How about coming over to Britain to practice!
