I guess this question goes out mainly to those who state a preference for the circumcised variety. Even if you prefer circumcised, how would you feel about having had that choice made for you when you were too young to choose for yourself? I myself am circumcised and sometimes it doesn't bother me, and sometimes it does (there's nothing I can do about it after all). Most girls don't seem to either notice, or mind, but it does upset me a bit that many girls definitely prefer a foreskin, and I can fully understand them doing, I think I would. Suppose that you had had the small foreskin covering on your clitoris removed, before you were old enough to remember - that is about the equivalent of removing our foreskins really, even though ours are bigger. It would only make a small difference to your genitals, so would you be OK about somebody having made that choice for you, and also, that some guys would prefer girls with that bit of skin there, and some would prefer it removed.

I would prefer to be as I was born, if I had been a boy and circumcised I would feel very much [sexually] abused and mutilated by my parents, people who should have been caring for my health and well being – parents have no right to do that to a child.

I find it really VERY sad that most girls/women do not realise there is no reason to routinely circumcise baby boys and the issues it holds for a lot of men, also very worrying that there are still such idiotic myths such as it being cleaner.

As you could probably guess I am very much against infant genital mutilation for both boys and girls, in adults it is fine, their body their choice, but forcing it onto babies and risking all the MANY health risks, not to mention potentially fatal complications, is unethical.

Girls that don't know much may say they care, but they really don't. Women that know what it is all about are said to prefer natural. However, in the US most guys were cut, although that is changing. Girls don't reject you (and will not laugh at you) because of the NATURAL state of your penis. I was born in the 60s and I am somehow natural (thanks MOM). Most boys were cut (although in college I was shocked that 3 out of 5 of my poker buddies said they were NATURAL). I had no issues. In fact in the late 70s when I dated in HS, I think hippie chicks thought that a natural guy was a real find, something special. In the 80s, I was surprised that women I dated for a short time and had sex with a condom on did not know I was natural. It looks the same erect and it feels the same to them with a condom on. With a condom off, they say it feels better. You are in a better situation as much fewer boys were cut in the last 14 years and the cut rate is falling like a stone. In NYC is under 50% for the time since at least the 50s. Don't throw away the natural parts, you may want them. The foreskin is not just skin and does not just protect the glans(head). Circumcision is now known to ablate the most sensitive parts of the male genitals. This surgery takes away the main male pleasure zones with about 20000 fine touch and stretch nerve endings amputated. The foreskin has several parts including the ridged band that is great for ones pleasure (that is why nutters like Kellogg wanted to chop em off, to curtail masturbation), Masturbation is important for a mans physical and mental health. The ridged band directly contacts the vagina for very great pleasure all around. The dynamics of sex and the actual mechanism of the penis are drastically changed by circumcision. The foreskin can normally be slipped all the way, or almost all the way, back to the base of the penis, and also slipped forward beyond the glans. This wide range of motion is the mechanism by which the penis and the orgasmic triggers in the foreskin, frenulum, and glans are stimulated. The only touch organ possessing as rich erogenous innervation as the foreskin is the clitoris. Circumcision deprives man of 2/3ds of the main erogenous zone constituted of the foreskin and the glans.

Personally, I dont think it should be up to anyone except the one owning the penis! I dont agree with people being circumcised unless they have made the choice to do it themselves. If it is forced by a parent or for religious reasons then it is barbaric. Same as these poor African girls who, upon reachng a certain age, have their clitoris agonisingly cut out so that they will never feel a sexual urge and will be faithful to their man. It is a disgrace that this is allowed to happen without their explicit consent.

However, with regards to women, I dont think they would generally bother about whether it was circumcised or it wasn't!

Thank goodness I was given a choice, I am uncut and happy.
As for cleanliness, it's all on the individual and his daily ritual, a clean Willy is a clean Willy, foreskin or not. I can't obviously comment on the sensitivity part as I would have to be circumcised before I can make that comment. I have heard that men who go through with circumcision when they are older suffer horrible pain and discomfort for weeks. I don't like the idea of been out of action for weeks or for that matter suffer pain. I am certainly grateful for the choice.

When my son was born, I had a decision to make. We shared a room with a baby boy who was circumcised, and the screams that I heard from him for days were enough to settle the entire question for me. I was already leaning the way of natural, so I went that way. Both of my sons are as intact as the day they were born. Its a decision I have never regretted. As you say, the choice is now up to them. Personally, had I been a boy, I would want my foreskin. Oh, and cleaner is a myth based on personal hygiene, if its clean, its clean, foreskin or not.

I don't believe in circumcision, except for medical reasons. What is the point of having an operation when it's not necessary? And I can't see the difference between having one or not. Personally, I don't think I would like a circumcised penis. I haven't seen one but I can imagine. Where I live, in the UK, it is unusual I think for this to be done, except for religious or medical reasons.

Unless it was needed because of a medical condition, I would be very angry someone had mutilated me. If somebody had damaged my source of pleasure in sex (which is what the clitoris is) I would never forgive them.

All the bits are there for a reason.

Female circumcision and the state it leaves a woman in is not at all comparable to male circumcision, which is however, still mutilation.

We faced this question when our son was born 5 years ago. Hubby has been done and I personally think it looks much nicer and is easier to keep clean, but the doctors are dead against it now and we would have needed to go to a private specialist to have it done..so we left it. They have a new procedure whereby they attach a rubber band around the foreskin and it doesn't hurt the baby and the skin simply falls off after a few days. I wish they had it in our state when our son was born. Nonetheless, if son wants it done later in life we will fund it..it will need to be his choice now.

I think its cruel and inhumane to be circumsizing baby boys.

Its alright to argue the point of hygiene but what is wrong with taking a shower daily and giving it a good wash?? The foreskin also contains nerves/veins which gives feeling/sensation/sensitivity to the male and female during sexual intercourse.

I have had a couple of partners. One with a foreskin and one without and there is definitely a difference.

How can someone decide to do something like that to a baby they are suppose to love and wreck his future sexual life in the process for their own selfish reasons of belief or religion. Its a disgrace!
