You need to do some research on what the earth was like before the great flood, and compare it to how it was after.
Ask yourself these things with an open heart:
1) Why were there no rainbows before the great flood?
2) Why were people able to live several hundred years before the great flood?
3) What does Gen 1:7-8 mean by: So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse "sky."?
4) Why do the land masses look like they can fit together like a puzzle, both on the eastern and western sides of each other?

The earth became corrupt, God didn't corrupt it. The fountains of the deep (water under ground) were broken up in addition to the rain. When the massive amounts of under ground water came up by obvious geo-wonderous matters to the surface (with the rain falling also) it flooded a planet that had very few high peaks.
When the same escaping of gases belched into the atmosphere the surface of the earth sank and formed the oceans as we know them. Sound good? I guessed, LOL

The flood was because of the debaucheries of angels and men.The water came from a thick water vapor layer that covered the earth it protected from UV radiation and supplied a larger oxygen content to the planet, life forms lived longer and grew larger. When it was collapsed it effectively destroyed most life on earth, even that in water because it changed the saline content to kill both fresh and salt water species. The sedimentary layers created by this massive flood are to this day mistaken to be geologic layers.

You don't believe any of these things you ask about and so all you do is ask them to seemingly gloat. You readily admit to being an atheist so why ask these questions. They can't possibly help you intellectually. All you do is position your self in a certain elitist manner with as stance that ridicules relgion -- especially Christianity -- and inflates waht you think and believe in. What about being humble? Or how about asking a question that actually matters? Or better yet if you are so intersted in Christianity why not go to bible college and become a minister.

If you are asking about the flood & Noah's Arc, God never makes a mistake. Noah was asking his people to worship God as they were infidals. He lived for 950 years doing so, they never listend to them. God flooded earth to clean it of such non-belivers. HE wanted to show us that HE is capable of such acts. As to where the water gone to, why bother to ask, do you think God cannot rid the earth of water? HE CAN DO ANYTHING, that is why HE IS ALMIGHTY.

it always amazed me that the bible says god made "man in his image", and promptly this man sinned and gave birth to a man who murdered his brother. ummmm.......this doesn't say anything good about god. this is one of those things that first made me question the bible.
many will tell you that god did not make a mistake, he gave man free will, and man just chose to do the wrong thing. all except noah. noah was the only one who chose to do the right thing. who knows, maybe the free will thing was a bad idea. go god allowed a man who had a good heart to repopulate the earth. even though he was a drunk. lol, i always loved that part.

I was always astonished god did so in the book of Genesis. That was pretty early on. Like almost immediately after creation. Perhaps the water vanished into nothingness from whence it came. god can do that you know. *poof*
