Never believe anyone who tells you leaders are born and not made. There are leaders for many things in life. Teaching. Emergency Response. Athletics. Scholastics. Just about any imagined category of working environments. Leaders learn from other leaders, both positive AND negative traits. Not many 'born leaders' have the wherewithall to know when to follow. Many develop arrogant and short-sided attitudes. And many see themselves as better than the 'rest of the pack, beta included'.

Leaders are born, not made. If you are a born leader, people will have a natural tendency to follow you. To make yourself a better leader, you could spend time considering the specifics of what you could do to decrease the suffering in the world if you had a team. Learn what it is like to be responsible for others by caring for a pet or caring for children. Get involved in group activities and try out the leadership role. Create your own activities and see if you can get a group of people to join you.

People will tell you you can learn the trits of leadership. There is a billion dollar business in selling books on it a special leadership training seminars...which is good.

However, leadership is a trait you ae born with. You either have it or don't have it in you. If you do not have it in you accept your desitny and be the best #2 man/woman you can be. If you do have it in you then you cn greatly improve it by seminars, books and good role models.

Best thing I heard about leadership training is a quote from a kid I was training at the time: "Leadership isn't taught, it's caught." There are many programs to teach you to be a leader, but the only way to really learn it is to experience it, try it out, & watch someone else who can do it with inspiration.
