God is love. he is the protector the creator and the forgiver. God will forgive you for the most awful sins. Here's a scenario. your about to die and you just sinned so greatly. if you truely belive god is your savior and creator adn you ask for true forgiveness you will be forgiven.
God is three persons in one. it sounds confusing but just go with it. God is the father. the father of the earth the havens jesus and us.
god is the holy spirit.
and God is man, through jesus christ. who died for our sins so that we may live in eternal happiness in heaven.
and if you ask how do you know God is there it's like this
God is like the wind you can't see it but you can feel the love the beauty and the compassion he has for you.

What is your religion? It seems that you do not believe in your own religion that is why your are asking such a question on the net. People from other religions will answer you depending on their different believes. I doubt if you will ever be satisfied with an answer, since you doubt your own beliefs/religion. May God lead you to know the truth...by they way try to ask God from the depth of your heart.

Can anyone tell you where the real God is? Nope.. God is faith, and can be any form, not just the christian God. Everyone has their own way of finding their way to to "their God".
But in the end we are all trying to get to the same place, it doesn't matter how we pray or what we believe, it is all individual and should be that way.

GOD is ONE no matter what name you call him, BUT it should be a beautiful one with no mental picture or image linked to it. You cant compare GOD to anything inthis world. HE is The Absolute, Neither born, nor has any parents. There can be no image of HIM.
If you see any religious scripture, all state that GOD is ONE. But then still the followers of the respective religions, themselvews dont know that their own scripture speaks of ONE GOD. Then they even ascribe image to GOD and worship HIS 'Idols'.
Giving image to GOD is forbidden not only in Islam, but even Hinduism, Christianity etc. But you still find Idols and images in them. Open the Vedas and you find that The Vedas are strictly against Idol Worship. Open The Bible, it speaks against worshipping Jesus Christ himself.
The Only Religion that has held this principle is Islam. Meaning 'Submitting your Will to ALmighty GOD'.
