African Greys - if you want to move to a medium size and have the money. They don't tend to have as many behavioural problems as cockatoos' can have (they tend to demand more attention than most people can give). Conures tend to be very noisy, lorikeets are crazy & manic & nippy - plus they are messy! If you can't afford a grey you might want to consider a Galah (sometimes called a rose-breasted cockatoo?) - they are a small cockatoo and tend to be a bit more stable & sedate than other cockatoo's, and don't bite as much.

Depends on what you consider easy. So is difficult to answer your question.

Birds as a rule are more expensive, and require more time than other types of pets.
Also consider how much you are willing to pay for one.

If you have hand tamed a cockatiel then the same principals apply to larger birds as well. I am assuming you know how to teach them to step up, and down on your hand etc.

Do some research on different variaties of parrots and see which one would fit your lifestyle best. As well as your pocket book.
Personal experince I started with cockatiel as well, now have have macaw, amazon, blue crown, and double yellow head amazon, blue crown conure.

The little blue crown was very easy to tame, and teach to talk, very affectionate, the bigger parrots tend to be more difficult to handle for first time parrot owner.

There are several good books available on how to raise and teach parrots.

Good luck

hard question, many believe a budgie is the easist, but they are very smart little bird ( not to mention cute) and need the care and attention that the larger parrots get.

maybe you should think about fish if you want an easy pet.

the others are saying "try a parakeet first" PLEASE keep in mind any animal needs the right care and are not diposabable! A budgie has lots of need still to be happy bird, fresh fruit and veggies daily along with seed and pellets. along with toys and interaction with you the owner. Yes budgie make great pets, they bond well with humans if you put in the time and can be taught to talk. I wasn't meaning in my bit above not to get one. I myself have 12 and love them but I wanted to be sure you understood that even though they are small they are not always 'easy'.

If your looking for a medium sized parrot, I have found that the Affrican Grey is a great bird. They dont tend to be too loud are very sociable and dont have the bite strength that macaws have so if they do bite someone they wont remove any fingers. They are also one of the most vocal and can be taught up to 5000 word vocabularies. Very fun and entertaining to have but can be pricy.

That depends on how much money you are willing to spend on one. I would move up to a Conure size, if you are not able to handle of some of the loud noises they make check into a Half Moon or a Blue Crown Conure, they are full of personality and the price tag isnt as high as a large Parrot.

YOu should start with Parakeets. they are like mini parrots and very very smart. then you should try an African Grey. They live long and talk.
