we've been going out for 2 months. my bf likes to talk about his future wife and uses the word love more often than expected for a guy (we're both 17). for ex. "i love looking into your eyes" or "i love how you say certain things." one time he picked me up honeymoon style, and said, "good news if we ever get married, i can carry you across the threshhold." he also has told me what his friends have said about how hot our kids will look. another time, he told me about his best friend being in love with another friend. do you think that he might be unconsciously trying to work out his own feelings for me?

ok thanks for your advice ppl, but im not having fantasies of marriage!! i was simply wondering what he was thinking... and he's not a hopeless romantic / "love junkie" type either. we're both highly intelligent and have clear cut goals to be successful in life, etc

i'm also not going to ask him flat out what he's thinking bc neither of us are rushing anything... if we were "rushing" wouldnt at least one of us have said "i love you" by now?

Possibly. I wouldn't try to assume anything though untill he comes and says it straight forward.

good Luck!

He sounds very sweet, romantic and wants the "love thing".. MAYBE MORE

iT IS IDEALISTIC, AND SOUNDS GOOD BUT TELL HIM SLOW DOWN, IT IS
A FACT WHEN YOU RUSH INTO THAT THING ,, HE WANTS A LIFE LIKE THAT, OR IS A "LOVE JUNKIE" how do YOU FEEL?

I AM NOT GOOD AT ADVICE, EXCEPT THAT YOU ARE VERY YOUNG AND THAT IS SEX HORMONES, FANTASIES, AND ALL THE YUMMY STUFF, BUT REAL LIFE, AFTER MARRIAGE CHANGES, AND IS EITHER GOAL ORIENTED, OR A DISASTER..

I KNOW THAT WHEN A MAN OR WOMAN USES THE "L" word, IT CAN BE A HINT, OR IT CAN BE THAT THEY ARE JUST FROM A VERY AFFECTIONATE ATMOSPHERE, BUT THE PART OF THE KIDS LOOKING LIKE YOU..

SLOW DOWN, ANYONE WHO RUSHES, OR PUSHES, IS EITHR THAT WAY WITH EVERYONE OR IN LOVE WITH LOVE,, EITHER WAY,,IT WILL BE A TURN OFF, IF IT IS TOO MUCH TOO SOON,, IS THAT HOW YOU WANT IT TO BE?

MAYBE YOU SHOULD START ASKING HIM OF HIS GOALS, AND DREAMS, AND PLANS..ETC.. ASK HIM WHERE DOES HE WANT TO BE IN FIVE YEARS,/FINANCIALLY, ROMANTICALLY ETC

ONCE I HAD A BOYFRIEND WHO WAS READY TO CUT ME LOOSE, AND HE ASK ME THOSE QUESTIONS, AND I SAID THE STUPID, DUMB ANSWERS, AND THEN HE SAID, WELL...WE HAVE DIFFERENT GOALS, AND I DO NOT SEE US GOING ANY FARTHER,, I WAS DEVASTATED, BUT I LEARNED THAT I WAS BORING, AND HAD NO SPECIFICS IN MY GOALS, (NO GOALS)

SO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER MORE,, TAKE IT SLOW, OR GO........
GOOD LUCK

It looks like he's got eyes for you but doesn't want to be committed at the early age of 17. Very wise of him to do so. I wouldn't live in fantasy world, if I were you, because lots of things might change until he can be able to marry you. Keep your good friendship and live your life logically. Good Luck to you both, you deserve the best.

You both are just 17, Sorry to say but this age is something we says in feeling and affection, he like to say this to you and you love to hear this, but reality is different. So dont assume things and see dream about marriage. Spend couple of year togather and understand well time will give you solution itself.
