Yes kids are growing up too fast...... Sickening, isnt it?
I dont believe its the parents faults. Young teens have a mind of thier own. No matter how hard a parent tries to lead them in the right direction, teens rebel.
I made the mistake of trying to grow up too fast...... I got married at the age of 16. oops...... (-_-)

It's really sick to think some parents don't even put much restrictions on their children so they run off doing whatever they want. What happened to bedtimes? Almost every kid in my school doesn't have a bedtime. I'm not saying that's bad but still, lack of sleep can effect their school work and they can get irritable with parents.
The thing I really don't get is how young people are getting gf's and bf's. I mean, the whole reason to get a gf/bf is to love them and be happy then marry. I doubt most kids are going to stay gf/bf from the age of 12 until 21 then get married. It's a social status, not anything special.

Yes today's kids are growing too fast. Probably cause of the economy. Too many things are available. All are at a cost and this needs money. to earn more Parents, both work harder to earn more and have less time for the children. They need company first and somebody to teach right from the wrong. So the find this lacking. Parents compensate this aloofness, lonliness and all what their presence can provide the Try to compensate with Money, sometimes more. The child seeks company, friends and make friends and gets wrong company.Resulting in unguided passing of time with wrong things, friends and feeling that mama, dad can flirt so this may not be a bad thing.. leading to vices etc...

i think parents are to blame, because my neighbor is a 12 year old and she has little boys over there when her parents are at work, if i was a parent i would be so scared that my daughter or son had already lost their virginity at the age of 12. i'm not saying that it doesn't have to do with the media but parents don't help, get a babysitter, have someone make sure your kids aren't going crazy, just get involved in what your kids are doing.

The kids are not growing up too fast. It's because the parents are either busy about themselves, working and not giving time with their own children and due to the media, which uses sex in their programes, and the music scene is dominated by the sex appeal too, and youths are into music a lot and they see this, it becomes the talking point. Also, if you look at many advertising bill boards, it is all geared to selling products, services using sex, which don't help much.
Most of the time, it is peer pressure which gets them to think about it and half of their life is about hitching up, and "will he or she go out with me," or, "what if he or she says no to going out with me."
If parents don't educate their children then someone else will and someone else is doing exactly that. It could be by what they observed in films.
The responsibility here has to go to the parents in taking time out to give a lot of love to their children, to take time out to educate them, because if they don't then one mistake could ruin the child's future. It just takes one bad move and a 16 year old is pregnant and then the parents will have to take time out to look after not jus one kid but two or three.

Most definitely!!!! Each generation is weaker but wiser. They can not handle as much but are more interested and likely to experiment with things ,that earlier generations were. Some parents are oblivious to the fact that we have to talk to our children about sex, drugs, and peer pressure at earlier ages than our parents did.I have noticed that children seem to develope in many ways much sooner than we or our parents did.Parents WAKE UP!!!! These are not the days of old!!! Things are a changing fast and we have to stay on top of it before our children learn the wrong things in the wrong ways, and at the wrong times.I am sure some of you have noticed the questions that the children here on answers are asking, and the things they are interested in.PLEASE talk to your children as soon as possible. The days of talking about sex, drugs, smoking etc. at 15,or 12 are long gone.we have to start talking to them gradually and at much younger ages.Because they are being introduced to these things by the media almost from the beginning.Even if we are careful in selecting their viewing materials they may have access to the internet, porn,or other children that have already been affected by these things.PLEASE TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN!!!! DON"T ASSUME YOU HAVE MORE TIME!!!! FIND OUT WHAT THEY ALREADY KNOW,AND CORRECT ANY MISINFORMATION THEY MAY HAVE!!!!! DO IT NOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!

No, they're not growing up, period. Our educational system ranked incredibly low, recently. Why do you think so many kids on here don't even know how to formulate a complete, and accurate sentence? Kids today are too distracted, especially by the media.

Yes, kids are growing up too fast today.
It is not the parent's fault. It is the fault of how today's society have influenced us. 12 year olds are forced to understand things that 18 year olds didn't have to understand one century ago.

You would like to know what's wrong w/ these parents, well let me tell you. They are not spending enough time w/ their children and they have no direction, you have to mold and train a child up in the way that they should go. Just add love and a little discipline and they'll be fine.

I don't think parents can do too much these days. Unless they lock up the kids at home. The world outside, the schools and media...everything goes toward "educating" them when they are young. But its sad to see the way kids are nowadays.
