It's interesting for something so clear and catergorical that so many questions evolv around Religion. The deeply religious amongst you have no doubts whatsoever about God and his teachings .Yet everything is so unclear to so many. I have never seen such an array of questions abour Religion. Far more than any other subject. Why cant you clarify it once and for all with good common sense reasoning? Why the divisions?
You have to realise , I question you not out of malice or mischief, I ask purely out of interest. Adolph Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Franco, Stalin had this sort of power when no one dared to question only to follow blindly. Control by fear. I'm sorry but that also seems the case here. Not once have I seen an individuals narrative. Only Bible quotes. Opinions handed down in a questionable manuscript many times translated and orally told. Daring to question is doomed to Hell, as I have been many times by participants here. So why is it still so unclear? Wrong story telling?

"Everything is so unclear to so many"
Very true! Obviously the reason for this is because there are so many different religions , (hence the divisions) and even people of the same religion don't understand what it is they are supposed to be believing in (hence the divisions within the very same religion)
It is also true to say that most religions are based on fear, or even on some sort of superstitious belief !
I do not believe (as you say) that all this religion stuff is "clear and catagorical" how is it and how can it ever be?
It is all a complete 'mish mash' of rubbish mainly based on bits of old paper found in the desert. It can never be "clarified"
As an athiest I can put up with people not understanding their own religion , it's even a good laugh at times! My only complaint is when these groups 'pop up' and stick a few worthless quotes into any other discussion not associated with religion. A quote from any 'Holy book' as an attempt to 'prove beyond a doubt' really gets up my nose!

Too many unanswered questions. Blind faith is nowhere near as powerful as reasoned faith. Hitler, Hussein, Franco and Stalin all fell when people asked questions, didn't they? Or at least that's where it started. To have the questions answered and still believe is stronger than any other faith. The questions can help the faith. No matter which faith it is. If you believe without understanding your belief, then you don't believe, you follow an indoctrination. The mind needs reassurance that the beliefs are real, so we question, we study, we interpret and seek clarification. It makes the entirety of life make more sense, or at least easier to deal with. Faith is fragile, belief is stronger, reasoned belief is assured. Basically if we can back it up in a way that others understand, then we know we have it right for ourselves. In order to do that, we need to be able to answer the hard questions. The childish answer of "because I said so" just doesn't cut it in the real world. An unshakable faith is one that has had all the questions answered.

I agree with you that many follow blindly. I was at a football game for the first time and was astonished at how by simply playing a song the entire crowd reacted with the same movements or sayings....I laughed to myself with the realization that is how simply Hitler took over a nation. Programming.

People seem afraid to question the bible or what ever their religious article is. I have always questioned....been asked to leave a few churches....LOL...but that is only because they did not want others to follow my example.

I do have to tell you that I have answered a few of the religious questions naratively....(smile)....maybe you just missed them.

I don't necessarily believe in God because of what is in a book, because there are a lot of things in the Bible that are misinterpreted. But when you actually have a personal relationship with God and have experienced being in His presence, then you will have absolutely no doubt. It is only unclear to those who do not have a relationship with Him.

your right people should question more.

I started out nominally religious and only became more so when I found out that it was right for me and allowed me to critically think and study the world around me.

for my self my religion has made me a better person and I think a more logical thinking one at that.

for others it might be the opposite. The fact is we all need to study and find what the truth is, at least for us.

Just to blindly believe in anything is intellectually dishonest.

Until you experience God for yourself He will remain an idea, or someone you heard about. It would be very rare to be convinced by reasoned argument that God exists. All anyone can do is tell you how He called them. For myself this happened about 4 years ago. I live in UK where christianity isn't as big a deal as in USA for example. I was not brought up a Christian, in fact I was brought up to have an open mind and accept everything. I wasn't even looking for God, but He touched me one day, through His spirit, at the baptism of a friend. I was only there to support her as it was so important to her, I'd never even been to church! I had rejected the testimonies of other christians I'd known ( including that of the man I married). It was purely by experiencing God for myself that I believed.
This is a mystery to us, but I believe that if anyone asks God to reveal Himself, and is seeking Him truly, He will show himself.

Amen and amen. It's amazing to me that something so true, by a God so great, to people that are suppose to be so important (to the point of sacrificing your own son), is lost in the quagmire of doubts, generated by the very ones that are suppose to bring the salvation message. I know were I stand, and I'm fine with the fact I stand alone. I pity the weaker minded that are depended on the more weaker minded to tell them.

I am Praying. Christ said in Matthew 9:22: "Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole." 9:20:"He was speaking the woman which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 9:21:"For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole." 9:22: "But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy Faith hath made thee whole." And the woman was made whole from that hour."
Prayer is the way we touch Jesus Christ, therefore Pray.

I would recommend that that you read the King James version of the Bible. It contains the answers to your questions.
God the Father knew you before you we born in eternity past and when you were formed in your mother womb. We are born with a Soul that will live for eternity. We must decide as a free will agent to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior or not.
Our decision determines whether we spend eternity in Heaven or Hell.
I Pray that you make the right decision.
Jesus Christ Loves You.
God Bless you is my prayer.
David

I am deeply religious, but I question the teachings of the Christian/Judaic god. Sorry, but your reasoning is slightly faulty there. And I make no claims that my religion, Wicca, is infallible.
