This is for all the christians out there, especially the ones who protest gay marriage and pride parades and stuff. Didn't Jesus say to love you neighbor, and all that jazz? I mean, he had some pretty radical ideas for his time, like "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." So really my question is, why is it ok for you to condemn us, when you aren't all that great yourselves? Even if you think we gays are sinners and we're going to hell, why is it YOUR job to fix us, or save us, or whatever? What gives you the right to tell others how to live and love?

First of all, I don't hate gays. I believe that homosexuality is wrong (as is adultery, fornication, etc). And yes, Jesus said to love your neighbor. I am close to a couple of gay people, and treat them the way I would any other friend. They know, as a Christian, I disapprove of their lifestyle, but I also disapprove of some of my heterosexual friends having sex outside of marriage.
In terms of "he who is without sin, cast the first stone" you're absolutely right. However, reading that same story, Jesus told the woman they were about to stone to "go and sin no more".
I do think people who are actively engaging in homosexual behavior are sinning, but you're no more or less of a sinner than anyone else. Everyone has sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God, and that is why we need the redeeming power of the cross.
The reason we try to save you, is because we believe that without Jesus you are going to hell, and we sincerely do not want that to happen. You may think of that as pushing our beliefs on you, but it is out of honest caring for you, and wanting the best for you.

It's never right for a Christian to condemn you. Christ calls Christians to love. You are right to say that we arn't all that great ourselves. The Christian is no better than the non-christian. The Christian ought to be the first to admit this, since it is based upon this confession that we recieve the redemptive work of Christ.

i think Christians attack gay marriage because it's an easy target. This is very unfortunate and i am sorry that you suffer because of some over zealous, unknowing Christians. Why do we expect those who do not profess to follow Christ, to follow him?

We are all sinners. We don't go to hell because of any particular sin. Hell is separation from God. We go there because we lack relationship with God. This is caused by sin in general, which we all suffer from.

Being gay is not really an issue. Recognizing our lack of relationship with God is the real issue. Christ restores this relationship, and i trust that he will also guide us in all other aspects of our lives if we recieve him. We ought only change our lives if Christ and the Spirit guide us. Without this guidance, we attempt something in our own strength that we are unable to accomplish, and which will leave us frustrated and distraught.

In other words, you being gay is not an issue. Yet anyone outside of relationship with God ought to seek to be reconciled. You cannot do this by simply changing your lifestyle. You can only do it by recieving Christ. And if when you recieve Christ, he leads you to other changes, i believe you will want to embrace those changes.

Firstly, I am not Christian, but I married one. Here's what I understand: unfortunately, different is bad. And being gay is different. Christianity is just the veil that hate hides behind. The Bible is the weapon of the ignorant. I'm not saying that the Bible is bad, nor that Christianity is, just that it seems to be something that is used to propagate hatred and intolerance. People with a propensity toward hatred will try to find something that justifies the gut wrenching fear they experience when they are faced with something they don't understand. Love transcends the physical body, and usually has nothing to do with sex. People who are so bent on hate have no capacity to understand love. Take heart, though, it is just current society that is doing it to you. In ancient Greece, it was a sign of status to have male lovers. I wish you happiness and health, however it finds you! May your life be filled with light.

I especially dislike the doublespeak thing where they say "Love the sinner hate the sin", or "We welcome gays so long as they repent" and "It's not a sin to be gay only to be a practising gay" I mean what is all that crap about...puhleese!

Repent for what?... being true to oneself. And if we can't have physical & emotional same-sex relationships without being called sinners and being barred from church it kind of negates our gayness doesn't it...turns us into neutered celibates and who wants to be one of those...no thanks!

Fortunately I am not a Christian so Christian injunctures about sin do not apply to me even though Christians attempt to apply them to me at every opportunity.

The Pope is becoming madder every day coming out with anti-gay statements that gays are intrinsically disordered, and that gay relationships eclipse God etc...what is he hoping to do?, get gays murdered in countries like Poland where gays are already having a hard time...innocent blood will be spilled because of the Pope's words of defamation and vilification.

People hate gays b/c they have nothing else to do right now. They are bored with protesting the war, and doing helpful things like feed children or clean up the enviornment is just too darn hard to do. So what do they do? They start beating that already dead horse of gay bashing just to be different. Don't worry. They will get bored of it soon enough and move onto something else, like witch hunts. So don't look for me, then!! I'll be hiding in the house with my athame!!

Lots of love to ya!

I'm not christian.. I don't hate gays, I have gays as friends. They are great as a chatting friend, shopping parther and "sisters". They are just normal humans too. I do have some friends who's gay. Nope, I don't condemn gays.

I would only condemn some of the "inconsiderate" gays. I guess, no matter which community we belong to, there will be some rotten apples here and there.

Gays that starts targeting normal guys or teenage boys and attempt to convert them, and treat that as challenging. (I knew one personally myself, who does that before.) Otherwise they are generally fine!

Homosexuality is a choice. The gay adgenda has been very clever at getting the world to think that Christians hate gays. Most don't. People will choose to live how they want to and do what they want to do. Many Christians love all people groups. Jesus taught us to love and he does not want anyone of us to continue to practise sin. Have you ever sat down and thought about same sex relationships rationally? The bible aside, it just does not make biological sense.

I would recommend that that you read the King James version of the Bible. It contains the answers to your questions.
God the Father knew you before you we born in eternity past and when you were formed in your mother womb. We are born with a Soul that will live for eternity. We must decide as a free will agent to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior or not.
Our decision determines whether we spend eternity in Heaven or Hell.
I Pray that you make the right decision.
Jesus Christ Loves You.
God Bless you is my prayer.
David

To the person who said homosexuality was a choice: it's not. When have you deliberately chosen to be heterosexual?

I'm an atheist and a Satanist, and I think sin is only perception. I don't believe in sin. Homosexuality is fine by me. I mean, whatever rocks your boat! You only have one life to live, you might as well be happy in the process.

I definetely do not hate homosexuals.
