I have to struggle for every pound i lose.The only way i can lose any weight is to practically starve myself and exercise everyday.but then theres the skinny girls who eat like pigs,dont exercise and stay skinny!

I understand how you feel girl. I've had the identical crisis developing up and nonetheless do. I am naturally skinny, but no longer too skinny. Simply usual for my top. Like someone already said it has a lot to do with your genetics. Some people just have a higher metabolism and burn off calories a lot faster. It could be that these girls do exercise and eat healthy foods; you just probably don't see them. Unfortunately, some of these girls could also be either anorexic or bulimic. There are many factors to consider. Don't worry. It usually starts to catch up with them around their thirties. In your thirties your metabolism begins to slow down and you start to gain weight. At least that's what's happening to me. All through my teens and twenties I could pretty much eat what I wanted and not gain weight. Now I have to exercise more and watch what I eat.

You probably have a slower matabolism, which means that your body "eats" the fat slower than those skinny girls. This in turn means that your body stores the fats more easily than those girls.

There are alot of thing which contribute to a slow metabolism: *genetics - if your family is like this, you are likely to be so as well
*lack or excersize - if you do not excersize, your body will not rid itself of the excess fats
*bad dieting habits - if you alternate carsh diets with cheating sprees, you will confuse your body. It will slow down and store all it can get.
*starving yourself - your body will attempt to store your fats when it sees them, for the "leaner" times ahead.

Did you know that skipping a meal makes your body put on more weight than actually eating it?

The best way for you to help your body incerase the momentum of its metabolism it to keep up the excersize, eta smaller meals more often, and to be consistent with your diets. dont chop and change diets, dont go for those crash diets, cheat if you have to but keep it down to once a day. Dont let guilt get to you 0 it can do more harm than good. Most of all - dotn look at others. Whatever we do, we will always be one step behind someone in something... Focuss on your good aspects! Well see, some people have better metabolism than others. For instance, I myself have really fast metabolism, so I can eat tons of food and not gain weight, but my mom is the opposite, she goes on diets all the time and never loses weight.

Those with slow metabolism have to work harder to lose weight unfortunately.

It could be the skinny girls have a lot of muscle giving them a higher metabolism (see "exercise" on site below for more info on this).

Well there's your problem. If you starve yourself you teach your body to store fat in case you get trapped in a vault or something. If you eat 5 small low calorie meals throughout the day AND excercise, you'll be in business. If you stick to around 1500 calories, don't eat any sweets and drink only water (no booze) you'll be doing great.

everybody has his cross to bear. Im thin and i want to get at least a little fatter, but the thing is i just hate eating and sleeping and before even if i ate lots i would just gain a pound or two and its really frustrating so i say, forget about it, be a Hedonist and just do whatever you wana do. Babe, life's too short.

it's because skinny girls have faster metabolisms.. so it's really how your body was functioned to be like. not that theres a way that those skinny girls are able to stay skinny.
