The hateful, mean-spirited attitude of many people at Yahoo Answers is very frustrating.

Example: Calling all Christians brainwashed idiots, - or those joyfully announcing all athiests are going to burn in hell.

Which side is worse? PLEASE GIVE EXAMPLES!

I mean Qs like "Did you know that CONSERVATISM is considered a mental ILLNESS?" This doesn't invite discussion, just more insults to the party he disagrees with.

I cannot judge anyone, but I will say this. Calling people names is wrong. That is something someone would do in preschool. I myself can say that yes a lot of people do talk a lot about their beliefs and some may feel that it is being shoved down their throat. But it is like this, most christians do love God and they are ready and willing to share their knowledge and beliefs. After all we are here trying to win lost souls for Christ.
Any trouble that arises from the post of christians is an attack of Satan. Satan does not want the truth to be heard or told. AGAIN THIS IS MY OPINION.
I believe people can believe in whom ever they chose to believe in. But I do enjoy spreading the word of God.

Christians believe in a God they have no true evidence of, so maybe they are a bit brainwashed, and athiests,,,,,, I think if you dont believe in anything you surely must be sad and feel lonely. The world has always been mean spirited. Its always a you against me attitude. So few think that everyone can be equal, or right or get along. It makes me sad, but im not sure anyone will ever change the situation.

i don't understand how relative that's, even nonetheless that's incredibly gruesome. I as quickly as asked here question. It became, and nonetheless maintains to be, the ugliest question I even have seen in this internet site: have you ever licked a hemhorroid? if so, did it flavor like a penny? As for hatefulness - that's merely effectual in case you enable it to be. not something perpetuates hate better than a receptive purpose audience. by ability of acknowledging the hatred with a reaction, you're thereby receiving the guidance, and performing upon it. I comprehend your frustration, even nonetheless, and function a tendency to agree which contain your stance. that's an unlucky concern that we perform in, yet my own perception is that that's a tolerable area-result. The concern is unfastened speech and the skill to get right of entry to a worldwide community of guidance, the area-result's the abundance of cowards who conceal in the back of the anonymity of the information superhighway to be greater formidable than smart. In result, with the intention to get carry of the guidance you require, you ought to be conscious that a GIVEN share of the persons you run into would be idiots. With this in concepts, bypass over those. Chalk them as much as statistical normalities, and circulate on with any pertinent guidance that would have slipped contained in direction of the cracks.

Well most atheists believe the world would actually be a more peaceful place without religion in general . So why should they act tolerant to something they want gone ? Christians however think that being understanding and tolerant will get them bonus points at the pearly gates .
So well atheist will come straight out and insult christians because of their lack of education/reason by calling them so , christrians will try to "enlighten" them about their wonderful god's love and how sad it is they haven't found it, and in turn insulting the atheists by call them spiritually ignorant . Its a funny cycle isn't it ?

Both athiest and christians here are really bad at shoving there dogma/religion into peoples faces....

Neather are really worce...

Though outside of Yahoo the christians are a lot worce about it. So I would have to say they are overall.

Other Dogma's tend to be rather bad at it aswell.

Least there not killing people for not joining there faith anymore like some people still are out there. But there are some christians that think they should be. >.<

someone that answered your question is the way you are decribing.

Example of this "thing": I had written a question concerning my son (4 years old) and that person said i hope your son gets beaten up and die.

Some people needs to be put in crazy hospitals don't you think? I mean who in their right mind would say that?
It may be the net but my god have some manners and don't act like you haven't got a brain

Well, there used to be this one guy (or girl) who would post questions about molesting children and babies. Those questions made my skin crawl.

The ugliest answers I've encountered are those who belittle the question by calling it stupid or attacking the questioner for not writing in straight English.

when people call a question, or an answer, 'ugly' they usually mean that they don't think it should ever have been asked.

since i believe that every idea needs to be discussed; and that where meanness, hatred, and dishonesty exist they need to be attacked; i would need to plead guilty to your charge of asking 'ugly' questions and giving 'ugly' answers.

but then i can hardly imagine any genuine inquiry being loathesome.

and i do not hold that the truth need be 'pretty' - it only need be the truth.
