I had windows 98 SE on this computer when I bought it....I later installed Windows XP and have used it ever since. I HATE XP....MOstly because of the space it takes on my 8 gig hard drive. It also doesnt operate the fastest on my PC. I have been trying to reinstall win 98 on the computer again since win XP is on here it won't let me! I know there is a way to do this---HELP! LOL Thanks-- ANy input is appreciated! :-)

Yes U can.
If while installing Windows XP, You had kept Windows 98 files.
You simply Uninstall XP.

If you didnt kept the files of previous Windows then,
Put CD-ROM as first boot device.
Insert Windows 98 CD-rom. It will boot.

Start computer with CD-rom support. The format C: drive.
c:/_
c:/format c:/s/q_

then install win XP,

but i think this wont work cause I have tried it.
But you can try again.

if u want to install windows 98 without deleting windows xp u have to have 2 partitions on ur disk now install the windows 98 in a partition other than windows xp
if u want only windows98 just format ur hardisk and install windows 98 further doubts u can contact me by messaging me to israel_ship

Set your CMOS setting to boot up in CD ROM support and insert a 98 boot able CD and do the rest

or

Insert a boo table floppy disk of 98 and go to command prompt and type fdisk and format the HDD

If u want to install windows 98 ...u always have to uninstall xp first otherwise u can't install win 98....

Keep...that important step in mind...

wipe drive you have to buy it or go get a new hard drive then reinstall 98

just put the start =up 3.5 floppy in the disk drive and the cd for 98se in the cd player and just go with option 2 and it should do the rest
