Since I've installed AOL S/S Center I have noticed the mcafee virus update notification pop up constantly. I have contacted AOL tech support but their methods were unable to resolve the problem. Does anyone know how to stop the pop ups?

Get rid of AOL

uninstall them.
AOL seems to take over the entire machine.
Also, a 20 minute recording was released the other day of a guy trying to cancel his subscription. The AOL receptionist was VERY rude to this guy because he wanted to change services. Similar thing happened to me only they didn't cancel it like they said, they charged me. Took me 3 months to cancel AOL. And probably another 3 to delete it all from my computer. Matter of fact it still shows up a year later on my list of files to remover. IT WON"T GO AWAY

Install Spybot Search and Destroy. Install it, then look for updates, then immunize, then run a scan. It will clean up a lot of spyware.

And install Google toolbar. This will stop certain pop-ups from happenening.
