young love is tough......... he wont tell you cause he thinks you would tell his current lady, and then he has nooone
you wont tell him cause he might not have feeling, and tell your friends and a joke will be inspired...
only way to find out is push the boundries... invite him to hang out as friends, just you and him for a day, and see where you are at the end

A wise man once said "you'll never know unless you try" So my advice is for youto just go for it. try and see if you can go out with this guy. I know for a fact that you not trying to ask him is killing peice by peice and i know (because you even said that you don't know he's going out with anyone so...) that you really want to go out with him so just go.
