I believe in God and I go to church. I have been baptised, confirmed, and I feel like I am just jumping in now. I don't know what to pray to God for so I don't much but I really want to be able to listen. I have heard him call me once but not after that. Now I feel like I'm after something that I am faking to make myself happy by trying to pray but it feels weird because I don't know what to say. Please help me. Give me advce if you can. Tell me about your relationship with god for guidence.

I have a 360 blog that has alot of articals, and sermons about the christian walk. All sorts of dealings in Christianity. You are welcome to stop by, and ask questions if you like.

The Lord tells us how we ought to pray.

Mat 6:6 But you, when you pray, enter into your room. And shutting your door, pray to your Father in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.
Mat 6:7 But when you pray, do not babble vain words, as the nations. For they think that in their much speaking they shall be heard.
Mat 6:8 Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask Him.
Mat 6:9 Therefore pray in this way: Our Father, who is in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Mat 6:10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread;
Mat 6:12 and forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors.
Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil. For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Mat 6:14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you;
Mat 6:15 but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom 8:27 And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

1Th 5:14 Now we exhort you, brothers, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.
1Th 5:15 See that none gives evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both towards one another and towards all.
1Th 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
1Th 5:18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1Th 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit.
1Th 5:20 Do not despise prophesying.
1Th 5:21 Prove all things, hold fast to the good.
1Th 5:22 Abstain from every appearance of evil.
1Th 5:23 And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blamelessly at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th 5:24 Faithful is He who called you, who also will do it.

It is nice to read that you are a believer, but don’t worry God will find you when she feels the time is here. God is omnipotent and doesn’t need churches and the priesthood to make contact with you when it is necessary, it have happened to me a few times and it is very confusing when it occurs. It is no use to read prays, empty prays with lots of words like the heathens do, tells the Bible. Your pray ought to come from the bottom of your heart and do not seek benefit of your own.
Secondly, think of to see Jesus Christ or God in any person you meet and behave as it might be like that. You can find God in any person you meet. I am not a Roman Catholic, but I have learned from a friend of mine who became a catholic priest after he lost his whole family in a terrorist attack and he was badly wounded himself by several shots, he said to me; When you meet a person who you dislike, ask your self why do you do this and try to find a good reason to this – not just non sense reason – and you will find out how wrong one can be in ones judges.
Third: If someone talks with a bad tongue about you, don’t worry, live in such a way that no one believes on them and you have won without doing anything. I am among those who have difficulty to believe when I look upon what happens in the world and the main reason for this might be that the non-greedy and non-evil persons don’t speak up at all
It is hard to be a believer, but if you don’t have a faith what will be then?

Read your bible-there are lots of experiences there
Fast and pray- a pastor did this for a week i think and he had a revelation in which God told him he was almost a stranger. His smaller pastors were better known, but he was only better known to members.
Hang out with Christians- I mean developed christians- they will help u more by advising u on what they fell on as in sin and they will guide you
Dont just go to church and be a bench warmer, be useful and dont just go for services, go because u know u r going to a place where God is though u cant see him, know dont think know that he is there and behave as you would behave if u saw him face to face.

For those who dont believe in God SHUT UP and keep your damned opinions to yourself. You might be foolish enough to not believe that the unexplainable things u see happen around u r spiritual just dont try to make those who can see this fall into apostasy.

When you pray to God you can talk to him like you would a close friend. There is no certain or special way to pray. He listens to everything we have to tell him. God wants us to pray more than just once a day. We can "talk" to him anytime. He is on call 24/7.
When you pray to him just ask the Father to open your eyes and heart for his guidance. Ask him to lead you on the path of righteousness. Ask that his will be done in your life. Ask him to help you understand what his will is for you.
He might not give you an answer right away, but if you are patient and wait upon the Lord, he will give you an answer and you will see things unfold before you. It will kind of be like a light bulb turning on when you finally get an answer. God will shed the light for you. Just cast all your cares and concerns upon him. I promise you will not go wrong.

It's hard to hang on to the initial high of becoming a Christian after the emotional inflation is gone! I know from experience how hard it can be to be as close to God as one desires. It takes a lot of work! This is certainly an area where I can use improvement myself, but from some experience I know that I have always been closest to God when I spend time in prayer (which is just talking to God), spend time praising God, and spend time reading the Bible. I also know it has really helped when I surround myself with other Christians. This presents the problem of not being able to share God with others when one only spends time with Christians, but when one is vulnerable or feeling distant, I find it helpful. Just attending church or being involved in activities will not bring you closer to God. Keep this in mind: knowing about God is not the same thing as truly knowing Him and having a close relationship. Make sure you don't just spend time learning about God or talking about God, but also spend time with God.

if you are a beginning Christian then began to learn how to pray consistently everyday for how every long you can. If all you can pray is 5 minutes a day, then stick with that 5 minutes everyday. When God sees that you are faithful and consistent with that fives minutes, He will increase your vocabulary in prayer. You will go from 5 to 10 to 15 to 20 to 30 minutes and so on. Just stay consistent and God will give and teach you what to pray for just as Jesus taught His disciples to pray. Prayer will help you access the Presence of God. In the Presence of God is where you will consistently find the desire and hunger to seek God on a daily basis.

First, believing in God and going to church is good, but that doesn't get you a personal relationship with God.
The Bible says that in order to become God's child, the blood of Jesus must cover your sins. What does that mean? It means that when you sin, which everyone does, the only payment to justify God's holiness is death. (Rom. 6:23)
The good news is that God sent Jesus His Son and the only One who could possibly live a sinless life, to die in your place.
So if you believe that Jesus' payment was sufficient to cover your sins and that there is nothing you can do to get to heaven on your own, you become adopted into God's family and can have a personal relationship with Him.
I am so glad that I have made the decision to accept Jesus' sacrifice!!!
After that decision is made, you can grow in your relationship by reading the Bible and praying.
you asked what to pray about.
It doesn't have to be flowery, just talk to Him like a friend or daddy.

There is an acronym that you can follow if you want

A= Adoration. Praise Him for who He is and what He has done

C=Confession. Tell God you are sorry for specific sins you committed since last time you prayed.(Note: Once Jesus' blood covers your sins, you never stop being His child, but you still sin, and in order to restore your relationship with Him, you need to say you are sorry.)

T=Thanksgiving. Thank God for the things He has done for you.

S=Supplication. Ask God for things you need or things others need.

Hope this helps!
I'm praying for you!\
email me if you have any more questions!!

The 3 main things you can do to better your relationship with Christ are: Pray, Read, Fellowship. Pray everyday, just talk to God as if you were talking to a friend, that's what I do. I yell and am sarcastic with him all the time. Don't worry about how it sounds, God understands and reads your heart, not your words. Read your bible, this seems so simple, yet it's one of the hardest ones for me! Reading will give you the right attitude about Christ and put your heart in better condition everyday! Lastly, fellowship, find good Christian friends and keep one another accountable. Any other questions, message me!

I know how you feel. You feel that you cannot connect to Him. Well, don't despair.. It happens. Keep on trusting Him and read the Bible daily. Pray and tell Him how you're feeling and ask for His help. Pray for graces and blessings... Pray to the Sacred Heart of Jesus or the Divine Mercy and Mama Mary. Go to church and don't forget your religious obligations. Go to a Christian Life Program and develop a personal relationship with Him. God bless you!

First of all I am really happy that you really care. I know that God likes it too. He loves it when His children want to be closer to Him... or even want to want to be closer to Him. When it comes to praying, dont worry about it. There is no wrong way to do it. It is basically just talking to God. Once someone told me to put a chair in front of you and imagine that God is sitting there. God just wants you to talk to Him. Talk to Him about whats on your heart or what you are feeling. He listens. Its also ok to ask for things. In the Bible He says, Ask and you shall receive. Just keep in mind that He sees that overall picture and knows what is best for you. You want a closer relationship with Him and you will get it. Just be patient and try to notice the little things. He is all around you.
