The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in Amdavaad [Ahmedabad], Bengaluru [Bangalore], Kolkatha [Calcutta], Kozhikode [Calicut], and Lucknow are the internationally recognised, respected and accepted Institutes of Management in India.
Only an IIM can grant you a Master's Degree in Business Management [MBA].
Several Indian universities [many of which are not even known of, abroad !] are now offering 'Post Graduate degrees in Management' [they CANNOT offer MBAs, as only the IIMs legally can]. But their alumni blatantly disregard the rules, and openly claim 'MBA' as their qualification - in the hope that all prospective employers will be unaware of this difference.
But, these 'degrees' are purely of 'cosmetic' value - and can only prove helpful, in impressing a semi-literate 'local' businessperson, or dumb prospective in-laws !

Between the two you have named, Pune University is better in terms of recognition and acceptance. However, when you ask for the best, then an MBA degree from one of the six IIMs is the final thing in MBA. Entry to the course is by a common admission test which is taken by thousands and is much sought after. Now, courtesy Arjun Singh, India's HRD minister, if you are from OBC category, you will have an easy entry in IIM post 2007, provided you are better of the lot.

pune is ok but if u really want to go in best institution then ahmedabad university is hte best

i dont know much abt pune...but..i heard symbiosis is a nice university......
