Had to tear apart the underside of the dash and take loose the steering column to get at it. Pig of a job, laying upside down under the dash. It's not repairable, you have to replace it.

If it cost too much, take the heater core hoses off, and hooked them together. To replace the core, the dash has to come out.

I have heard of mechanics using a tourch and going through the firewall but then you risk the A/C system. Bypass or pay a mechanic to take the whole dash apart and is big bucks. Bottom line money; unless you want to try to do it; but my guess if you do, next time you will pay someone. Sorry....

If you really want to tackle this yourself, get either a Chilton's manual, or Hayne's manual for you car. They have very good instructions. After reading the instructions, you will probably decide to pay someone else to do the work
