My boyfriend is in the military and stationed in Cali right now, and I'm in Louisiana. We've had a very odd relationship from the start. When I met him he was married, but we were just friends. This was two years ago. Since then he's filed for divorce and we have talked a lot. Well recently we decided to make it official cause we've both always had feelings for each other. Yesterday he was saying stuff like "you're the love of my life" the whole time we were on the phone. I know some guys would say that just to get in my pants but since he cant get in my pants cause of the miles between us, could he actually mean it? I'm also worried he's not really being faithful. We went a whole week without talkin and his phone was off the whole time. He said it was cause he was on base, but I just think its weird cause he's on base a lot and we've never gone that long without talkin. What do you think? Does he mean what he says? Is he maybe cheating??

Even though he never actually hooked up with you until the divorce was over, he did in reality cheat on his wife with you - his attentions and confidiants were to you. There is no reason to belive that he wont do it again to you with someone else - it is something he probably finds easy, especially if he has you waiting back home for him - his bases are covered..... What he is saying to you may be in part his guilt for cheating on you - whether it is by falling for someone else, or jumping into someone else's pants. In the same way, he may be avoiding you due to guilt.

You have to first determine whether he was cheating on you and avoiding you and if so, why? Cuold it be that he doesnt care for you any more? Or could it be the adverse - that he cares for you so much that his bit of infidelity is giving him such guilt feelings that he is avoiding you?

best of luck!

Be very, very careful it sounds like it might be a rebound relationship and as a rule those don't turn out well. If you have any doubts about this person take it slow and get to know each before making any decisions about a long term committment.

He is confused if he did the right thing. If you came into his life while he was married, chances are, if you got married, someone else could come in and do the same thing. You need to listen to him, every word, you will see that he bounces back and fourth. Do what your heart tells you to do, there are plenty more potentials out there for you to get your heart broken by this one.
