I'm not always happy with myself, cause I always do things I know I shouldn't do. It's not just cause of religion...I fell bad that I'm sinning against oter people, not just God...besides I haven't been to Church in 6 years.

so you don't feel guilty for generalizing Christians and saying most of them are stupid? You didn't do anything to hurt anyone, but that might just be an igorant statement. That has to strike some remorse in you, even though there are no consequences, right? How can you be truly happy, if you have to insult people? Sorry I'm not indending to pry or argue, I'm really just wondering...thining this out.

Since most religious people don't follow the morality teachings of their own religions, I'm unimpressed with them. I follow several simple moral principles that are not inspired by faith in some ancient mythology, and I am quite happy.

Who ever told you that people who don't go to church don't care about morality or doing the wrong thing?? Many people don't go to church, and they are moral upstanding people who do the right thing. Just because we don't call things 'sin' doesn't mean we do them! Certain moral codes (don't kill, lie, steal, cheat, etc.) are universal values, all societies & religions condemn them.

We are pretty much ALL sorry when we hurt others. I believe in the Golden Rule (which all religions & cultures have a version of), Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We ALL do things we are ashamed of. I know I do, but I am also in general a happy person. I try my best, and am sorry when I do wrong.

That's the best any of us can do.

Well I personally don't believe in sin or any religion. So I am perfectly guilt-free and happy not going to church. If I do good things it is because I want to, not because I feel it's necessary to help me get into heaven. I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. If I do bad things, I might feel bad or suffer the consequences, but I don't feel any guilt about it being sinful. The whole idea of sin is not one that makes sense to me. It's not real.

Well I think I'd feel a whole lot better if I just had the chance to sin a llile bit more. I don't have a life (that's why I 'm sitting in front of my computer answering silly questions).

Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness

Let some steal their favorite rap cd.
Let the person their dating lie about an affair.
Let someone spread gossip about them.
etc.
See if they believe in bible morals.

Congratulations! When you feel bad when you do things you shouldn't, it's a good sign. It means you have a consience which tells us which is good or bad. When do bad, we're not happy because it separates us from God. We do not serve His purpose for our creation so, we feel bad.

I am a "born again atheist". I am a product of my upbringing and my environment. I do have morals. And, when I do right, I feel good about myself. When I do misdeeds, I don't feel good about myself.

Its human nature to feel bad for things you do wrong regardless of religious feelings.
