How exactly does one "burn" in hell when your dead and your body is no longer alive and your no longer in your body consciously? What exactly is burning? And also, when your body is dead so is your consciousness cause thats what your brain is, which means, and everybody lets all say it with me together now, NO MORE EXISTENCE FOR YOU.

There is no hell yet. there is no heaven yet.

your body IS not dead. Your not burning anywhere yet.

Are you not up on your scripture tonight?

You make atheists look alittle lame.

I have no idea how the soul burns in hell. I never really puzzled it much because I always thought that hell was just a representation of being seperated from God. Only because that is what I was told sin was "anything that seperates you from God" and told that hell was the place "furthest from God" so I just made the connection I guess. I'm not a Christian anymore, though.

As a Hindu the concept of heaven is said to be a temporary existence that is projected by your consciousness. It is said that whatever you focused on upon death that this is what would be in heaven, temporarily of course. That means everyone's "heaven" is different then. Eventually desires and karma pull us back into an incarnation. The higher goal in Hinduism isn't heaven, but moksha. Moksha is the liberation from the cycle that causes us to incarnate and complete union with God (Saivites say that we completely merge and are absorbed into the Oneness and Vaishnavas say that we merge into the Oneness, but remain distinct).

The only point issue Hinduism has ever had with science is that science says the consciousness is produced by the mind, the mind being the brain itself. Hinduism says that consciousness permeates the universe and the mind is the sense organ of consciousness. There are some in the scientific community who are experimenting with the idea of consciousness as something seperate from the mind, but all of that has just began so no information about the results (and I somehow doubt they might go so far as to say that it permeates the entire cosmos). Other than that Hinduism embraces science completely (and with all the various sects within Hinduism the word "God" has a lot of different meanings: Cosmic Consciousness, Ultimate Reality, Supreme Self, Expanding Awareness, etc, etc, etc).

And the fact that Hinduism doesn't condemn people to "hell" is also a nice quality. Hindus believe that no one could ever do so much bad karma that they would be seperated from God. How could they? Everything in the universe manifested from God (sort of like the Big Bang...everything in the universe retains its true nature which is divine like God because it all came out of God Itself, so how could one be seperated from the source of what it is?). That and Hinduism actually accepts all other religions as just "other perspectives on truth." I think that, along with a great deal of the logical and rational approaches (plus the devotional aspects, too) really appealed to me with HInduism. It's really ashame that Hinduism is so miss understood (although Hinduism and Buddhism aren't as different as most people might think, they just have "other perspectives on truth.")

Anyways, good points raised. Like I said, I never questioned how one could "burn" in hell. Very interesting thought. I'll ask that the next time someone tries to use that to try and convert me.

One does not burn in hell foreaver.
The subject in the Bible refers to blottiong out that memory foreaver. No tears ever. no recollection.of the bad person.
Heaven would be terrible if christians heard there realatives screaming from pain as wellas suffering night and day. God has no plans for that. Blotted out of your memory..The smoke rises foreaver. cause theyre history..Hitler#1 on his list.

Are you feeling anything? Because you don't appear to have a working brain. Why do you HATE Christians? How does their believing in Christ affect you? Leave them alone and go get a real life.

Because the word HELL just means covered hole, or mans common grave. If you are not resurrected when Jesus comes back then you will just cease to exist in Gods memory and that's separation from God for-ever,and that the worst torment .

well, since Hell is said to be freezing anyway, it shouldn't be possible in the first place. However, your soul is still alive, and you can feel through your spirit.

we die here on earth. but our soul can still feel. i believe that. so if we go to hell, you'll feel pain and suffering. but dont take burning in hell so literal. its just a sayin. NO ONE knows what hell will be like

After you die you will be resurrected and your body will be returned to it's perfect state, whatever that may be. I'm certain that my words aren't even going to penetrate the surface. It kind of makes me sad, because I know them to be true.

How do you explain out of the body experiences and the experiences of those who have died and been brought back to life?

Exactly. More proof that Hell can't possibly be real.
