Christians Only Please.
I feel the convicting spirit but not so much the closeness as I desire. I was baptized in April, will I start to have that spiritual closeness I desire as I further myself in God's Word and pray? Am I supposed to be feeling this now or is it gradual? Thank you.

remember we don't live by feelings. if you have given your life to Christ the Holy Spirit is with you. there are times in my walk that i don't feel anything that is when my faith comes in, and when i trust in Him i grow in my faith. i'm not sure how you believe but i speak in tongues and when i do there is such a spiritual connection it is awesome... just make sure that you read Gods Word every day and pray everyday. remember first fruits. first thing in the morning read and pray, you will see a wonderful differance in your daily walk.

First and formost, the Holy Spirit does not convict, He is the comfortor, sent to walk along side us, He is the third person of the Trinity, Jesus said He must leave so that the Comfortor could come. He is indwelling us, as believers, with the power to do the work of Jesus. As you, by faith, acknowledge His presence, you will be more sensitive to His direction, I believe this is a gradual building of relationship between you and Him (Gods Spirit), like any relationship, it must be nautered, built upon the Word of God. Feelings have nothing to do with Faith. Jesus said "blessed are those who believe and have not seen"> Also Faith is believing before you see the results because the Word of God says it is true. I had this struggle myself until I finally realized to feel is not faith, it is believing

I have the same troubles only I have been baptised since I was a baby. I renewed my baptism covenant with confirmation and I feel closer to god. As I am in the same boat I would say just listen like i am and you will know when the time is right to do something or try praying for people or even yourself. God will listen and your prayers will be nswered in some way shape or form. Pray to God and tell him you want the best relationship with him that you can have. That is what I am doing and each day I do something more that I feel God calls me to do. Answering your question is one of them.

It is a gradual process that happens as you continue to draw close to God.
A "spiritual" relationship with God is just like a "natural" relationship. It takes time to get to know a person, understand them, and be able to talk openly with them.
Don't be discouraged if you feel that this is going slowly. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truth. You will begin to sense His presence as you grow in this walk!
I pray you will connect with spiritual sisters that can mentor you in the things of God.
In His Service,
a servant

No. Not daily, but when it comes it is amazing and wonderful.
A relationship is something you have to work with and strive for.
Keep praying even when you don't feel the Holy Spirit.

Its not the "holy spirit", its your intuition connecting with your psychic activity. When asking questions to god, you are actually asking yourself or the psychic side that you want something. Praying is a simple form of meditation and manipulating your environment. You want to self explore and this will give you self knowledge which is the main key in life.

I'd read up on the lives of Saints and mystics and see what they had to say about it. St. Theresa of Liseux wrote Story of Soul, St Theresa of Avila wrote Interior Castle, Thomas Kempis wrote the Imitation of Christ, St Augustine wrote Confessions.

Good luck.

There may be times when you don't feel it as strongly. Just trust that God is always working in your life, evern during the quiet times. I pray a lot more during the quiet times.

God LOves YOU
