Contrary to some comments, meeting someone on the internet is not for ugly shut ins etc etc. It sure beats sitting a dark stinky bar, getting loaded and then wondering who you are actually meeting. Don;t get me wrong, I am sure that there are people on the internet who are not completely honest about themselves. It depends how serious you are about meeting the right person. Just be smart and safe about who and where and when you meet. Always meet in a public place for the first time, let a friend or family member know where you are going. Never get into a vehicle with someone you don't know. If a person is sincere, they will understand your concerns and reasons for being cautious. I met my spuse on the interent and we have 2 beautiful children and have been together for 5 years. Good luck.

Yes. It's inevitable that, as we are living in the Golden Age of the Internet, that a new social frontier would have emerged and net-dating would become a standard. I've met people online before, or met someone then gone home to find them on Myspace before asking them out.

I have just as much luck online as I do in real life (because I don't just go out with anybody who messages me 'hey u want 2 scru?'), and they're the same type of people: we just happened to meet online.

Yes and HORRIBLE! I have yet to be glad that I met anyone on the internet. *Corrie shudders* Oh my Lord! what a disaster that can be. I really hope I'm smart enough to never meet someone for that reason on the net again. (Especially since I'm married now) Don't do it dude, it can really turn out BAD!

My first time i did i feel deeply in love and got my heart broken. She broke up with me for absolutely no reason at all and i told this to all my friends and they can't find a reason either. I think i am on my 3rd now. And you are getting the best answer my question you answered.
