The original concepts of Hinduism were that 'One's heart is God's abode, and correctly performing one's work is the best Prayer'.
...Purely exhibitionist influences from foreign visitors, invaders, plus colonialists, did later help in the introduction and popularisation of mass/group worship, lighting of lamps, burning of incense, and even offering sacrifices, to 'appease' or 'bribe' God, into granting 'favours' - as if God was just some corrupt and crooked warlord, politician, or governing official !

I engage in human sacrifice.
What I like to do is go out on Yahoo Answers and find a stupid question from a stupid person, perhaps a question like this one, and then, having fully determined from the character of the person's question that the person him or herself is also entirely useless, indeed an inneffectual expiration of breath, I hunt them down and capture them and return with them to my lair of torments.
Once in the holy place, I strap them down to a bed of scorpions and bees and set up buckets of highly caustic acid to slowly drip onto them at various places around their flesh.
By this pure and noble act of religious devotion I bring to my god the human life that he requires for the indulgence of his great tormenting spirit.
There you go retard. Is that a pretty good ritual for you.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I go into my prayer room and I sit quietly before the Lord for awhile then I start to praise Him and worship and declare His goodness....sometimes I sing to Him and other times I tell him how awesome he is.....there are times when I just sit silently and he is always so real to me in these times.....it is in these times that I receive direction and just how much he loves me.....his presence is very real during these times

regardless of last answer, I know that didnt help you much, but God is in everyones heart, everyone has a different way of worshiping, look into books and see what you find as a good way to worship and follow your heart.

There is only one God.
That God is your Creator -
Means you are His creation
Deal with Him like your father.
You can talk to him always - That is the prayer.
No rituals needed to please Him

I am a TRUE CHRISTIAN so I speak directly to THE GOD by THINKING to him. No rituals, no specific building.
Jesus is the MEDIATOR so we pray (think- thoughts) through HIM ONLY -- we don't evern include his earthly mom.
Enough??
