Yes!!!

I did that when I started to study engineering.

I soon realized that all those things I've heard on catholic school were just a bunch of crap.

The True Light as opposed to the light that so many people force from interpretations of books or scrolls or other temporal writings.
Not necessarily Atheism, that usually seems the way at first but its hard to believe that the universe does not contain powers bigger than humans.

sometimes people need to find thier own path (no matter how unorthodox) to find their 'light.' You may turn to atheism for now, and then later on in life, you might be inspired by something else, and you could find the 'light' someplace else.
Its your own journey, no one else can tell you what to do because everyone else will just give you their opinions. But you are the only one that can truly feel whether or not you've found your spirtual connection. (Spiritual and religion don't neccessarily mean the same thing...

What LIGHT? does atheism have to offer?? What of anything does atheism have to offer??

Atheism and enlightenment are mutually exclusive.

The question should be rephrased: Do you walk on the dark side through atheism?

Where does being an Athiest get you? It's pure denial. If you're right about there not being a God, well then, we all have the same amount to lose...nothing. If religious people are right about there being a God, buddy, you're screwed, and they're not. So stop being such a rebel and look around you at all the evidence. Give spirituality a chance to make a difference in your life.
