I used it when my hair dye came out too dark to remove some of the color. I made a paste with baking soda, shampoo or conditoner, and water. Then I poured it on, rubbed it around and rinsed, then my hair was lighter. I don't know what else you would use it for besides lightening hair. What are you trying to achieve?

Baking Soda is an excellent way to remove build up that hair products leave on your hair.

As a stylist I prefer to mix about 1-2 tablespoons with 8-10 oz of warm water and pour it over the hair mixing it with the lather of shampoo..leave it on the hair about 3 minutes. This can be done once every couple of weeks.

Yes, if you use too much soda without mixing it with water it can be drying to the hair, but usually as soon as it is shampooed the hair returns to its former state.

It should fade just-dyed hair.

No, you need to mix it with water so its to a thick paste type deal, and them smooth it into your hair.

It will ruin how Shampoo works!
