Beyond the obvious ways:
--reduce use of disposable products
--reuse products that can be reused (two great ways to encourage reuse is to join Freecycle and give things to people who can use them, or donate to charities)
--repair, something we don't often think about and not always practical because repair costs can be more than the cost of the item. However, if someone who is handy can repair the item, then it is better to give it to them (through Freecycle, word of mouth, etc.) than throw it away
Recycle--goes without saying, and there are more and more ways to recycle every day

--composting
--create a backyard habitat
--carpooling
--eliminate junk mail

--try using a solar oven for some of your cooking

Recycling used oil is one way, another way is to get a away from carbon fuels slowly and go to hydrogen fuel cells, separating recyclables like plastic, glass, paper , aluminum, and a variety of others, eventually i predict that newspapers will be a thing of the past, most of them will slowly be forst to sell subsections on line, that would slow down deforestation, unfortunately that would cut allot of jobs, one big problem we face is that with technology and advances in it, it eliminates jobs, we as a world are becoming more efficient and with a growing population this poses a very serious threat to peace, lack of jobs causes poverty which eventually leads to desperation, which can lead to situations like in Africa, it takes us all working together worldwide to make a difference.

have contianers for cans, paper, ect

use a wind mill and sell the addtional power you do not use back to the power co

heat with a furnace that uses old used oil

buy & make post cunsumer recycled products...

set up a recycle battery bin... People for get about proper disposal of those..

paper, rubber and appliance drives collecting all these things.
