Ok so I must admit I am a little baffled as to why everyone thinks Christians are stupid and gullable. Soooo.....

I was wondering which would you rather be wrong about:

a) You live your life to the fullest, then you die. You don't want to bielieve in Jesus because you might look like a fool, and you wouldn't want your friends to think you are weird, so you have decided to not believe in Jesus or the afterlife. Once dead you go to heaven and find out hey there is a heaven and CRAP I never put my faith in God, and now I am going to hell.

~OR~

b) You are a believer in Christ and you live your life for Him and then once you are dead you cease to exist. There was no heaven, there was no God. But hey you lived a good life, maybe even affected other people in a positive way. Maybe you did believe in something that wasn't real, but hey no loss here!

Which would you rather be wrong about?

No I believe in God because He shows His work in my life EVERYDAY!

It just baffles me why someone would choose to live in a hell on earth.

I definately don't want to live in Hell on earth...been there done that!

I would rather live my life serving God and to be wrong than to be wrong for not serving God.

Option A.

I don't believe in the Christian god or follow a religion but not for the reasons listed with option A. I try to live a good life, be positive and show kindness and understanding to others. Not being a Christian doesn't automatically equate to immorality.

If it turns out that god is real and there is a judgement day, I'd prefer to be in hell with the other agnostics and atheists than in heaven with a god who condemns all those who didn't accept him into their lives on earth irrespective of their works.

If there is no god, then when I die I'd have led a good life anyway.

I dont think that there's anything against being an atheist in the Bible. And don't give us this Pascal's Wager crap. How do you know that you chose the right religion. With all the sects in Christianity and over a thousand world religions the chances of choosing the right one are pretty bad. Being a spiritual person would be the most logical thing to do (as in not choosing a religion but being a good person and acknowledging that there is a higher power out there). Anyways, I'm sure any loving god would let everyone into paradise as long as they were good people.

Well.. if we look at this logically, we have no information about what heaven is like, so therefore we go on how Christianity described heaven. A paradise, but paradise is from the writers perspective it could mean watching the stars, or perhaps nothing just not being tortured. So I would rather live life the the fullest, be a good person and believe what I want to believe.

You are the most logical christian I have met however I don't believe in anything. I lead a very normal life and am a very sweet girl people are surprised when they realize I'm not christian. It's sad we have to install the fear of God for someone to be "good people". I think if every one stopped worrying about how we got here and just worried about the real world it would be a better place. You make a good point but science has already proven that humans are created through evolution. I don't know how life started but I'm not gonna go making up stories to pacify myself or to make me feel better when a loved one dies. I just want to live life to my fullest while I am here and enjoy my family before they die because I know I will never see them again. I am glad there are Christians. Before I became educated I was Christian as well and believe me it brings peace of mind to think life after death and that you are never alone. It was very sad to realize that it was all made up. Best Wishes to you and all it boils down to is happiness so if you are happy being a christian, go for it!

See, I don't think people with think ill of me if I proclaim to be a christian. I am just not comfortable with the story. In my life I have searched a lot for an answer that sounds and feels right to me - that makes sense to me personally, one that I can live with.

I have found it - and in many ways it sounds a lot like Christianity, and in many ways it sounds completely different. The bottom line is, it is mine - and you have yours and that's great. I know that when I die I will be loving reunited with the all powerful universal energy - but my idea of "heaven" is very different than that of others.

So I go with A - i live my life to the fullest, by my rules and when I die I am comfortable with what happens to me.

Incidentally, most of the folks who might say christians are stupid and gullable are the people who feel that any of us with religion or "higher power" stories are gullable children who need a crutch to get through life. It's nothing personal.

Peace!

I do not believe in eternal damnation, and I believe that hell is remoteness from God, not fire & brimstone. I also believe Jesus was a MAN and not a GOD of ANY kind. He was a Messenger of God, not Got Himself. Close but no cigar. Nevertheless, I'd choose B if these were my only two choices. To be distant from God would be a hell for me.

But if I had my 'druthers, I'd continue being a Baha'i, serving and obeying God through Baha'u'llah, pbuh.

If those were the only two choices, the latter of course. Now, since I played your silly hypothetical, you owe it to me to play mine:

Which would you rather be wrong about:

1) You live your life according to faith. When you die, you discover that there is in fact a god, but that that he is annoyed that you chose faith over reason, in spite of the fact that he made a rational universe and you should have rationally concluded he didn't exist. He annihilates you because he is only interested in those who freely sought the truth based on rational principles - freethinkers.

2) You don't believe in a bunch of silly ancient after life myths, and when you die, it turns out you were right.

Which would YOU rather be wrong about?

I just choose to be in the grey area... its not like I dont believe or I do, but I havent gotten a reason to pick either one. Id pick a) I truthfully believe that even if you didnt believe God wouldnt damn you to hell, He gave you a choice, so he shouldnt reprimand you for deciding otherwise, if he wanted you to believe in Christianity.. youd be wired to do so.

I am a Christian and when I die I will go to Heaven and Lord help the people that do go against God ... I don't want to be judged or to have him say I don't know You...

Let's star from the beginning:
Jesus was a man, pure man not God as per edict on Nicea Council 325AD.
Afterlife don't have to do with religions or anything like that.
Religions are in this world to dominate you and take your money, please open your eyes. No Armageddon, no rapture, no, more fairy tales. Stop preaching your truth.
