Don't get me wrong-although I am not pregnant. I do very much appreciate pregnancy. BUT- Two of my co-workers are pregnant at the same time. And all I ever hear about is how fat they are, and how pregnant they are, and how hungry they are etc... Every day is a repeated conversation. Try hearing it for 5 months straight. I get so annoyed I just don't know what to do! Already tried to tell them, and my boss sucks, he basiclly favors the pregnant ones. What do I do? Quit?

I sympathize.
Got some around me who seem to think that every little detail of what they eat and how they sleep and how often they pee is just fascinating for everyone else. I am happy for them, and I wish them all the best, but like you said, they get SOO self-centered, its tedious. And I feel like a grouch for complaining....

I just hope I wasn't like that when I was pregnant.

It's got to be annoying to be around. However, having been pregnant myself not too long ago I can understand what they're doing. They're obsessed, like I was. When you're pregnant it's the only thing you think about, it's the only thing you feel. Your body has been taken over by this new life that's growing inside you and you're as happy about life as you could be. Getting to "complain" is part of the fun. That being said, they won't be pregnant forever so the annoying conversations in that regard will end. Bad news is they'll be replaced by annoying conversations about what their babies are doing now. So since your boss sucks, and if you can't move to a different area of the office or wear headphones to block them out, then maybe you would be happier at a different job. Good Luck!

You must first understand that pregnancy time is the most valued time and cherished period in the life of every woman. Giving birth to a child is almost like a miracle and involves so many complications. So no wonder the 2 women are always talking about it. If u find it very irritating, try tuning out their conversations by concentrating on something else or wear headphones . Let them enjoy their precious time. It's after all going to last only for 10 months max.

They are probably first time moms together, right? So they are going through all this discomfort together and they are glad to talk to one another. Play some music, get a fan, make sure your area smells good to you. TAKE YOUR BREAKS. Go somewhere with friends for lunch. Do a good job and just try to minimize their conversation by making your own work area more comfortable to you. Can you put something up as a barrier between, even like a tall plant or something similar? Just some ideas.

I did the same thing when I was pregnant, it's just so exciting for a momie to be that she can't stop talking about . There are major changes that these women are going through. Try to share this time with them, all my coworkers did.... hey they even shared my food with me I mean even my boss....hhhhhh
It was funny 'cause I used to get hungry every few min.... I hope it gets better for you. I used to annoy my co workers sometimes 'cause I could not stand the smell of their perfumes...etc.

After they deliver, knock them down - or knock them over. When they act suprised, just say "Well, someone already knocked you UP!"

Joke - it's just a joke!

I went thru the same thing in college - being a guy in a female dominated major, and having to listen to all that pregancy bs.

Either learn to tune them out, quit - OR - read up on what they are talkign about and jump right in their conversation , like you are a pro in the area. This may get ya'll talking more (lessen the tention), or may get them to shut up, for fear of how much you may know.

Good luck!

the good news is that you've stuck it out for 5 months-only 4 months to go....the bad news is that it is only going to get worse, you say it gets on your nerves to constantly hear how pregnant they are.....just wait until all they ever complain about is how tired and wore out they are from their new bundles of joy.
If they plan on going back to work after they have their babies it most likely will not be for a few months....like I said you put up with most of their pregnancy I'm sure you can handle the rest...they'll soon be on maternity leave and not irritating you anymore....other than them if you are happy with your current job than it is worth keeping

Change the subject, tune them out, join in. Why do you work there? What are your goals ?Find a new job first!!! At 5 months, you only have 4 months to go.Be the change. Peace.

i would not quit .. just say can we talk about something else, or just tune it out..i know it would probably get tiresome hearing it all the time.. but i would say that lets get back to work or you are just plain tired of hearing about them being pregnant and how they feel all the time.. or put some cotton in your ears...

Ask them again, If they dont shut up, just agree with how fat they are and make nasty comments whenever they bring it up. Normally I am not so mean, but its Monday, and you did already ask them to shut-up. Continuing to annoy you is just rude and deserves some rudeness in return.

Tell them to cork it. Actually, that wouldnt be good. Then theyd just be pregant longer. Tell them if they dont shut up, you'll kick em in the belly. Im pretty sure that will work.
