Have you done any research into what Hindus believe or do you just like bagging them out ....

We don't believe that. As a Hindu I have never even read a mythological story that has the Earth standing on the horn of a cow. Where did you hear that?

There is a mythological story that says something to the effect that the Earth rests on a turtle (the turtle being God in the story), but it's all just symbolism and no Hindu would ever take the story as literal. Other than that, the Earth is never said to be resting on anything. It is usually just seen as floating in the cosmos, revolving around the Sun along with the other planets. And last I checked, that's what science already says is in fact how the Earth is.

I am a Hindu, and quite educated about Hindu theology and philosophy as well - and can tell you with absolute certainty, that NO Hindu believes that the 'the Earth is standing on the horn of a cow'. To us, our planet is 'Bhoomadevi' - the 'Divine Mother Earth' !
...If YOU think what you claim, let us leave it to the other Answerers here, to decide whose thinking is...you know what !

Is not those that embrace Hindu entitled to their own beliefs as others of other beliefs are? I wonder what the opinion of the ones who embrace the Hindu belief of those who embrace Christianity, Islam, or any other belief? Do you suppose they might have a similar opinion as you have?

Why not just live your life and let others live their lives? Why not let each live thinking that he is doing the right thing if that is what he wants to think and what he wants to do?

Just a thought to give you something to do as you smile and have a good day.

no offense, but science has disproved some hindu beliefs. Yet there is this really famous book called The Bible which stated that the earth didn't rest on anything a long long time ago! pretty remarkable thinking for those times huh? (thought you should know)

Gee, I'm a Hindu and I had no idea that I believed such dumbness. Thanks for informing me so I can get right on that belief.

No, seriously, I am a Hindu and I do not believe that. Have you heard of metaphor? There is all kinds of metaphor in my religion. Metaphor is a valuable tool for teaching what cannot easily be conveyed by other means.

I don't really find it stupid at all. I mean if you think about it to a non-Christian it sounds pretty stupid for the world to be created in 6 days or to the son of God to come to earth just to die for us. I don't feel that anyone needs to bash anyone else's religion.

Why christians believe the world was created in 6 days 6000 years ago. Why do they believe in incest, murder. How was the world populated with just adam and eve. How was the world populated again by noah and his sons.

wow. no matter what you believe, you should never have the audacity to disrespect another person's beliefs and call them "stupid". i'm a christian and i don't always have the same religious philosphies as other people, but i'd never be so rude and blatantly disrespectful to call them stupid.

or to let my ignorance be shown to all the people who happen upon your question and wonder at your frame of mind.

I thought it was a giant turtle, and that the turtle was on something else, at which point it's customary to say "let's talk about something else".
