Wow, well thanks Wikipedia! I belong to a liberal denomination, the Disciples. (www.disciples.org)
That description does a pretty good job of describing us. There is also an emphasis on social justice and advocating for justice issues.
We emphasize the love and grace of God, over ideas of human sinfulness and threats of punishment and judgement.

Dear Laura,
Liberal Christianity includes a variety of viewpoints, key of which appear to be rejection of the authority of the Bible in a person's life.
Some self-styled Liberal Christians reject various combinations of (a) the deity of Christ, (b) the virgin birth, (c) the miracles of Christ, (d) the supernatural, (e) the resurrection, (f) the judgment, (d) the existence of a Personal God.
Cordially,
John

Liberal Christianity, progressive Christianity—or liberalism within a modern Christian context—is a movement within Christianity that is often characterized by the following features:
internal diversity of opinion
an embracing of higher criticism of the Bible with a corresponding willingness to question supernatural elements of biblical stories (e.g., the virgin birth)
the rejection of biblical literalism and the inerrancy of the Bible
the freedom to construct one's own personal view of God
broader views on salvation than those held by conservative Christians, including universalist beliefs
an emphasis on inclusive fellowship and community, often applied in recent years to racial minorities, women, and LGBT people.
a willingness to consider and adopt viewpoints which have their roots outside of Christianity (e.g., other faith/philosophical traditions)
a willingness to combine theology with modern scientific theories

In a nutshell, liberal Christianity is anything that isn't orthodox Christianity. In other words, any type of Christianity that isn't 'old'.
The earliest Christians would have considered all modern Christians to be 'liberal'.

I don't know exactly what you are talking about. Within Christianity, liberal has MANY meanings depending on the context. Liberal can mean anything from less traditional to politically liberal. It really depends on what you are talking about exactly.
