Humans were intended to eat meat.. however I do feel a lot of humans eat alot more meat than they should or need to.. the amount of meat we should have is about palm sized portions, and only that much once a day or less...
some countires (where people are actually healthier - they may only get meat once a week or less) North AMericans are meat gluttons..

eating meat isnt wrong, but some of the cruelty we put our food animals through is wrong.. chickens suffer emensely so I prefer free range eggs and would rather eat beef - my thinking being that one dead cow feeds more people than one dead chicken does..eating shrimp is like mass murder really since 1 shrimp couldnt feed anybody.

I am not against hunting for meat since the hunted animal probably had a lot better life than the poor cow who lived in a boring feed lot.

No because people have been eating meat for many many years. Some people will tell you that it is because it is torturing animals, but if you want to get into torturing animals, look at house pets. Anyway, I don't think it's wrong to eat meat because meat has been eaten for many years and it's a good way of getting protein in every day and the way humans evolved (another subject not suited for this question) we developed teeth for eating meat by chewing it and for also eating vegetables. Anyone that says eating meat is wrong, it's their own choice to eat it or not, but I'd rather eat it.

No.....i don't think it's bad to eat meat. We are the only species that sits around and considers the other animals feelings, which is cool yet funny at the same time. Could you imagine a lion looking at it's prey and thinking, awww this animal is going to feel pain, i probably shouldn't torture it, what about it's family.....they will miss him too much, maybe i should find some grass to eat. lol

I admit, I am a total hypocrite on this matter! I love animals, and I despise cruelty, but I love meat too. I hate hunting and do not eat wild game at all. I love fish, but won't eat the fish my husband catches once I've seen them alive.

Isn't that ridiculous?

Yes, but if eating meat is wrong I dont wanna be right.

(Why? Well...I had a series of hydro colonics and while I'm being cleansed they make you listen to audio tapes and the first line of one of the tapes is "Meat is death to your colon". I will never forget it, but I still eat meat. Meat is really difficult to digest and can build up in your colon and intestines.)

Well look at it from the cows point of view. If we didn't eat cows no one would go to all the trouble to have them. They would be NO cows. So a cow can live a life of luxury and at the end become someones diner or have no life at all. I think I would rather have the life of luxury. A cow only wants to eat and crap. They don't need entertainment. just food and a place to crap.

Of course not. Take a look at your teeth next time you're near a mirror. Do you think those canines were designed for eating tofu?

If God didn't want me to eat meat, He wouldn't have created me with CANINE teeth in my mouth. Read Genesis (The first book of the Bible). It clearly tells of what we humans are and are not supposed to eat. ;-)
