I don't know, but Dr. Wayne Dyer once pointed out that almost all the names for God contain the sound "ah" in them. Interesting little fact yeah?

Alot of religions have rendered The Bible into thier own words (not a bad thing) but they have taken out God's name (Jehovah) and replaced it with titles such as: Lord, The Almighty, Most High, God, ect. The Bible clearly states God's name at Ps 83:18-"You whose name is JEHOVAH, you alone are the most high over all the earth." Most KJV Bibles have removed his name even from that scripture and replaced it with " The Lord." But inSome KJV and other versions the name " Jehovah" still remains. And that is how it should be. For more information contact me via IM or E-mail, and I will be happy to answer anyomre questions that you might have. Tiesha

The Glorious Qur’an says in chapter 17 verse 110
"Say: ‘Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names....‘"
[Al-Qur’an 17:110]
You can call Allah by any name, but it should be a beautiful name, it should not conjure up a mental picture, and should have qualities that only Allah possesses. For example, Most gracious, Most merciful.
"The most beautiful names belong to God: so call on Him by them;..." (7:180)
Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. (Qur'an 20:8)
====================
There are more than 99 ATTRIBUTES of ONE GOD in islam. which defines the characterstic of one God. e.g . most forgiving, most high.
=======================
Allah is just a name for god. like how some bibles say that God's name is Jehovah.
The word "Allah" literally means itself, "The only one worthy to be worshipped".
-Take into consideration that the Arabic Bible uses Allah as a translation for God.

HOPE THIS ANSWERS.

The most concise definition of God in Islam is given in the four verses of Chapter 112 of the Qur’an:
"Say: He is God, The One and Only. "God, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him."
[Quran 112:1-4]

You mean God, Allah, Lord, etc?
Well, it's language. It's translated that way so people from a certain culture can say it.
However, God, Allah, Lord are just titles. They are not the personal name of God.
His name is clearly stated in Psalm 83:18. Check it out.

That is a GREAT question, The word 'GOD' came from man, Most men have a fear of dying, so to take away some fear, they all, in their own languages had to find some type of 'higher' being to help them ease the fear. Each culture named their god, a word that they were familiar with.

Jews and Christians have one God and He has several names, as each of His names represents an aspect of His character.
Can't speak for the muslim sector.

according to the bible....god is just a title....at Ps. 83:18...says "the only true God whose name is Jehovah, is the most high over all the earth"......Jehovah is the name of the God of the Bible....if it has been omitted from your translation read the forward...it will tell you they did so because of superstition....or look in the encyclopedia.....it will explain why God's name Jehovah has been left out of the bible....Hope this helps answer your question...for more questions about the bible e-mail me at lab_pammy@hotmail.com
