Oh, I've noticed. And not just here. It goes on all over the world. People "defending" the truth. What from? I have no clue. It looks to me as though any truth that would need someone to guard it and keep it safe is a weak truth indeed. The TRUTH should need no guardian, no protector. It should be strong enough to stand on its own, even when people deny it. It should be able to out live it's detractors. It should be true ALL the time, and not just part of the time. Hmmm ... Maybe its not the truth that they're guarding. Maybe its their own lack of faith in it, or their own lack of understanding what it really is. Maybe they're not trying to guard the truth at all. Maybe what they're guarding is their own insecurity. ;-) ~ Peace & Blessing ~

Have you ever read "The Emperor Has No clothes" by Hans Christian Andersen? Many christians act like members of a class of elite emperors, who all pretend their brand of 'faith' is the only message that need be followed. They encourage everyone else to adopt their imaginary Deity and friend, Jesus.

In essence, anyone who steps up and points out they are full of poo - will get an earful of damnation, hellfire and the like. Meanwhile, the "rogues" analogous to the story are their cult leaders, who feed them the hate they spout -While fleecing them of their money.

They will say, "I pray for you" - which is the equivalent to saying, "I will tell Santa Claus you were good this year". Now, they purport to change the laws of my country to fit their own concept of a Christian Theocracy - at the same time they complain that "Christians are persecuted?" They make more enemies than friends with their unwanted judgment and hateful intent against others.

Anyone who is truly at peace in accord with their beliefs will feel no need to defend those beliefs. That single test alone will tell you everything you need to know from an individual's response. It is easier than you might think to point out that the emperor wears no clothes.

Well, actually, bees don't swarm to protect their hive. They swarm because it's a bee colony's way of reproducing..... FYI

...from the light of reason. People do not react with much emotion to defend beleifs they arrived at through reason rather than through invalid means.

You can tell whether someone has a logical basis for their position by how emotionally they defend it. If they defend it with a lot of emotion, odds are they don't know why they hold the position. The emotion is fear, driven by a conflict between the subconscious, which knows the position is baseless, and the conscious, which want to believe it is not.

From there own fears that the very people who attack their faith are correct.

The swarm is about people insecure in their faith. They protect it, becuase if anyone poked holes in it, they would not be able to continue believing. It is the fear that their beliefs are incorrect.

Have you also noticed that this behavior is prevalent anywhere in this world, not just in YA.

Beliefs are subjective and people naturally get together to keep their belief going. Those that dont', well, they just don't stand up to the test of time and eventually disappear.

are you kidding?

From attack.

Ignorant people spew their venum... mostly with the same mis-information that they accuse the believe of.

As a believer I respect each persons right to NOT BELIEVE. I expect that they should do the same for me.
