Many scientist agree with this theory that some very large asteroids hit the earth and created what we call a nuclear winter thus shutting off the suns rays over the entire globe, where temperatures droped below freezing, many of the dinosaurs plant sources froze as well, as the food sources ran out the larger creatures either died out or were eaten, eventually many that could not adapt to the changes in climate perished, there is evidence in Mexico and Russia of this meteor theory, i hope this answered your question, asking questions like this shows signs of a future scientist possibly.

a great meteor hit the earth and everything burned, tar pits burned them up and those that did survive couldn't find food or water. Get the movie "dinosaur" for him I think disney made it..it has a great story to it..but not too violent.I'm a huge fan of the movie because it has these cute little monkey/lemur things that hang out with a lost allosaur

65 million years ago a large asteroid about 10 miles across struck the earth and the dinosaurs became extinct shortly after that.

best theory is that a large asteroid struck earth - it caused a massive explosion and tsunamis that wiped out many animals and dust storms that changed the climate so extremely that the large dinosaurs could survive - too cold and not enough food

small mammals did survive as did small dinosaurs - today called crocodiles, alligators and the tuatara
