What if you had epilepsy and seizures which are quite constant, and have taken many medications to help it and some work some don't. What if you were "Allergic" to many of these medications? Is it an advantage to be allergic and feel fine from the seizures or have seizures constantly and feel repeatedly sick? I need to know what I should do or what are my options?

Allergy to medications usually appear as soon as you start the meds, and not after a long time. Seizure meds, as you said, vary in their efficiency, but ur doc will know, after a while what is working for u and what is not.
As for the benefit of ur med's, it really is beneficial, and prevents attacks once u are on the proper doses and the proper drugs. The body also has an ability to adapt to these drugs, usually, after a while.
Bottomline....don't worry, u never "gain" allergy from using a drug for a long time...usually u are either allergic to the drug or not allergic from the beginning.
And allergy has signs: skin rash, shortness of breath, sometimes fever, sometimes wheezing.
But as I said these will show whenever u start a drug newly and not after some time..
Hope this helped.

Definitely, only Doctors can give you real advise on this. But there is one option relating to Epilepsy! It has a lot to do with your mental fitness and lots of psychological factors are involved. If you can find a way to be happy without much concerns on this epilepsy issue the attacks are going to become lesser and lesser. Find happiness in anything and everything...have a very positive attitude..it;s the best treatement you can give yourself. Easily said than done..But you can do it. Dont let anything stop you from enjoying this wonderful life to the full. At the same time accept that you have this problem within you...treat your body with respect and care...dont overload it..like no smoking..no heavy boozing..Get into refreshing and entertaining activities like sports and music or whatever relaxes your mind and soul. Yoga is definitely an option..Not only it will help you physicaly and mentally, they also have treatements for epilepsy which doesnt involve any medicine...just routine breathing exercises. Good luck my friend! Remember to have fun all the way and enjoy life to the full!

If you aren't getting the results you want from your local doctor try a research university. The Mayo Clinic would be a good option if you can afford it. See what a big city near you has to offer. We have a Health and Science University nearby and they are wonderful. They really take the time to get to know you, your problems and come to a resolution. They are their for study and learning more than money, so you can often get better results!

My husband had severe headaches, after many neurologists, doctors and medicines we finally hit the University. They had doctors and residents confer and after two visits my husband was correctly diagnosed and given the proper medication. He has been off the medication now for 2 years with no return of the problem after suffering for more than 4 years with disabling headaches. He had a neurological disorder.

Good luck!

Maybe you can take the medications that you are allergic to if you see an allergist, who can prescribe medications, for YOUR SPECIFIC allergies. Please don't trust the over the counter stuff.
There is no sense in taking more medication than you have to.
I wish you the best. I have allergies also.
Hope

really it is best to talk this over with your doctor.. they try medicines and if they do not seem to help you they try something else...so this is really a question that only your doctor can help you with...
