I was looking for a restaurant / lounges that are located in high rises in new york for a nice view of the city. That would be a wonderful romantic suprise for my boyfriend on our trip to NYC!

Get a copy of Zagats. They have a listing of Restaurants with a view. You can pick on up in most bookstores in NYC or On-line.
Below is a link to one of the quintessential romantic restaurants in NYC. Its on the river in Brooklyn, but breathtaking views of Manhattan.

I think Rainbow Room/ Grill at Rockefeller Center is a good idea. It's located between 5th & 6th Avenue and 49th and 50th street. It's located on the 65th floor. Here's a link:
