If you want a real career rather than just a holiday job - like barwork/cruise staff/tourguide etc. then i'd suggest studying science. I did a Science degree and i've been able to travel a lot through my studies and work. So far i've had funded trips to Japan and Scotland (outside of my own country, Australia - where I have worked in several major cities and on a remote island) and i'm only in my 20's.
Outside my own personal experience I would also suggest perhaps a career that is in high demand in most countries - like accounting, nursing or teaching. Many countries actively recruit people from o'seas into jobs like these because they can't meet demand locally.
Happy Travels!
