no, and they shouldnt. if your boyfriend is doing that he isnt worth the worry. of all people, he should never take his stress out on you, and if he's "getting mean" surely there's a reason. ask him. if he wont tell you, leave it at that. dont wast any more time on him. if he is angry, there must be some kind of reason whether it's viable or not. just try to find out the problem, see if you can solve it. if he blames things on you, dont take it. communication between you two is needed.

only those guys who either 1) dont know how to deal with stress and resort to violence against the closest person they know, 2) dont know how to ask for help when things are getting too much, or 3) want you to think it's your fault that they are stressed and then take it out on you, or ...

whether or not it is normal, common place or average behavior, it is NOT behaviour that should be condoned, put up with or ignored. if this continues, go talk w/ a close and trusted friend, family member, counselor, etc. and let them know what is happening.

if you decide you need to leave this relationship, to stay safe and sane, dont let him try to tell you you're a wuss, a nobody, a nobody no one else will want, a piece of *** that should be glad you're his girlfriend. those are things that he might be using as a crutch to avoid dealing w/ his situation. if you need to leave, figure out where, when and how, then do it.

know that you are a great person, that you can be loved and, most of all, be safe.

No way not all guys are total penises some of us would rather go to the gym and take out the frustrations there. Any guy that goes off on a chick for no reason needs to be slapped upside his head.
