"Food doesn't come in contact with your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then comes out again." (By saying this, he showed that every kind of food is acceptable.)

Technically, Christians aren't bound by the laws of the Jews. There are a lot of weird laws in the old testament that christians don't follow. The concept is, i think, that grace is more powerful than the law, so the law is no longer necessary. I don't eat pork anyways, though.

This doesn't have anything to do with Christians selecting parts of the Bible they like.
Christians are under the new covenant.
It appears that we pick and choose which parts of the old testament to follow BUT we are actually just following the new testament. It is the new testament that has already selected all these things for us.
Basically, if the new testament restates it, it remains true.
If the new testament changes it, then it is different.
If the new testament doesn't mention it, it's no longer required.

Because even Jews know that once the Messiah comes the old rules DON'T APPLY, well some of them. ;)
Since Jews don't believe that Jesus is the Messiah, then they follow the rules of the old testament.
Christian eat pork because we have a savior and we don't have to try and follow rules that are so impossible! God knew these rules were impossible to follow, and voila he sent Jesus to save us!
Hopefully one day people will realize that there sin CANNOT be controled by there actions and their good deeds, and until you accept Jesus as your savior you will be seen unclean in the eyes of God.
God Loves YOU

Show me the word christian in the old testament??? What is a testament?? Agreement, contract. Do you understand the meaning of NEW TESTAMENT, NEW CONTRACT, NEW AGREEMENT. If you know what that means then you know why we do not observe the dietary laws of the OLD Testament..

Peter's Vision
9About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. 13Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14"Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."
15The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

We are able to eat pork, because God has send his begotten son who died for our sins. If you read in the new testament it states that you are allowed to eat anything as long as you blessed it.
