How long do you wait to tell somebody you're dating that you contracted an STD from a prior relationship? I try to be very up front with people about myself, and the issues in my life. I don't want to face rejection, but I want to be honest. Should I tell him before we go out, or on the third date, or what? Im new to all of this.

Its not deadly, it's herp-2, but nonetheless, I try very hard to be up front and honest.

I think my ex husband "Capt'n Monagamy" gave it to me, because I certainly felt what I have been told the symptoms are when we were "active". Its embarassing for me because I didn't even know I had it.

As soon as you feel like it may start to become a serious enough relationship to become a sexual relationship you should tell him. If you only go out a few times and you're relationship doesn't go any further then don't bother to tell him.

You don't have to tell everyone you date that you have a STD. What I would do is feel the person out and see what they are about, then if he/she is mature enough to handle it I would say something. I'm sure you already know this but most people who don't have a STD will be scared of it.

As for you dating, you could go to a group meeting or something like that for people who have the same issues you have and meet other people who have contracted one and then maybe the dating thing wont be such a hard thing because you both know what to expect if it does make it that far...

Personally I would wait until after a few dates and you get to know each other....unless you are planing on having sex on the first date. If you do then I would tell him right away if not wait a few dates and see how things go but be sure you tell him before you have sex. Or if he ask before you get to the point of having sex be upfront because if you really like each other and u tell him no then he finds out later on that will probably be the end of your relationship.

Well, I would wait a while let him get to know you a bit and if he really loves you he won't care about it (as long as it isn't aids.)

Still I suppose that is why you shouldn't have sex before marriage.. =/ I'm sorry you have an Std =/

if i had it i would wait at least till youve been dating the person for like a month so they get to know who you are first before they judge you. and if they reject you after they get to know you then they werent good enough then

I think you should tell them as soon as possible ... It's better to be honest, specially with the health
