I hate when I'm mad at someone/something; people assume I'm on my period.

A guys perspective:
Some boys/men would rather blame something you cannot control for their inability to listen to what you're really saying. Quite often men do not understand that just because a woman is complaining about something, it doesn't mean they actually need a resolution ... sometimes they just want to express what they're feeling; this is counter-intuitive to men who think everything you say is something you're seeking a solution for. Sometimes men have no solutions and thus they push back at you with comments such as "you are menstrual", "what do you want me to do?", etc.

We search for answers... when you're acting irrationally.
Since that's a major difference between what YOU experience and what WE experience... we assume (admittedly ususally in error) that THIS must be the REASON.
Sometimes it is the reason. Sometimes even though you ARE PMS-ing... the irrational argument is VALID... due to something the MAN doesn't understand.
I hope this helps

Actually, we blame hormones. Female humans produce substantially more mood-altering hormones than do males. The release of these hormones coincides and is part of the menstrual cycle.

There is one primary reason for it. Guys do not understand your mood swings. So there has to be a logical reason for them and , for most men, PMS fits the bill.
Your mood swings are some time not rational at all and of course we men have to have a reason for everything.

Because women don't take responsibility for their actions and blame it on PMS, rather than lack of control on their part.

Because most of the time, that's what it is. Don't be a pain in the *** and we won't blame it on PMS.
