What would be the best thing to send in a package to a camper that is there for a week? Would you use priority shipping?

Nothing that can melt :)
* postcards - pre-stamped
* disposable camera
* treats like cookies, brownies, or those 'mini-bags' of chips and cookies that parents put in their kids' lunch. If you can, send enough for them to 'share'
* a magazine for the boring down times at night. If it's a teen magazine with pics of cuties, send some tape so she can hang them up in her bunk
* If it is a kid - get a book of 'scary campfire stories' for them to share w/their new friends. or print some off the internet at the links below
* a little address book so they can write down their new friends' addresses and phone numbers
* a letter/note from you :)
* a little money for them to buy something :)
Oh yes - priority ship so she/he can get it before camp is over!

Has the child already left?
If not, place little notes in the suitcase, and hide little treats inside the pockets of pants or in socks. Just to remind the child that he/she is loved while away.
As for a camp survival kit: YES use priority mail!!!
Include some small bills: most camps have a store where shirts, snacks,and other things can be bought.

power drinks or water bottles
an autograph book so that she/he can write down names of kids and phone numbers

Priority mail the camper some cash, candy bars and stamped post cards they can send back to you.
