It started last year. When allergy season started, I started coughing constantly. My doctor said it was a tickle in my chest (so when I breathe, I'd cough). She gave me a couple of different allergy medicines but none of them have worked. It when away after months of course but it started up again this year. I saw another doctor and he put me on antibiotics since allergy medicine isn't working. But the anti biotics aren't helping either. Does anyone have a possible solution?? It's annoying and since I'm a HS student, and allergy season starts during my testing periods, it's also distracting to other people. I can't stand it! please help

You should probably be on a cortosteriod inhailer like Advair, Beclovent, Azmacort, or FLovent (they are anti inflammatory steriods - not they kind that weightlifters use). I have Asthma & Chronic bronchitis (maybe you have one or the other or both too) and I use Advair; It's like night & day - I feel much better when taking Advair (cough is gone & no wheezing, and can take full breaths). You should talk to your doctor about at least trying it out. If he does not - I would certainly find another doctor.

Maybe you will go forward to an allergic test, if you had an allergen. If don't, and if it's really a seasoning allergy (ex. cold season) maybe you can move arround the beach. Till now it's very hard to manage if you have a season allergy.

You have to have your lungs mri'ed or X-rayed. I have severe coughing attacks, and (finally) was diagnosed with pulmonary embollism. Clots in the lungs. It doesn't matter whether you are around smoke, or dust, or whatever....sometimes our bodies do thier own thing. GET CHECKED!

Are you around smokers? Get an air purifier, and then see a specialist, MAYBE THE FAMILY MD IS JUST OVER SEEING THE PROBLEM

It could be asthma. You need to see an allergist to be diagnosed correctly. Maybe an inhaler would help.
